I had my birthday dinner in Mangetsu last January and I'm glad I chose the right place. I had heard from a Japanese friend based in Manila that Mangetsu had the best sashimi--he wasn't lying. Aside from the sashimi, there are so many other items that are worth trying. There are even fusion pastas that I would highly recommend to... More

Glad to have business lunch here again, after my last one less than a year ago. I would have given Mangetsu a glowing review then. With its prices, you get your money's worth - taste, freshness, quality of preparation. I can't say the same for my visit in December 2016. The chef must be having a bad day then. The... More

One of the highlights of my trip to the Philippines was stopping here on the recommendation of a family friend for some good Japanese food. We couldn't decide what to get so we didn't hold back. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. It's a bit off the beaten path and luckily we had a driver to take us around... More

Excellent place with fantastic japanese food at a quite acceptable price. Ramen is particularly good (the curry and shoyu ramen varieties are great) and sashimi is very fresh. Service is reasonably good and the place is never crowded in my experience. The only bad point is that due to its location it does not have a good terrace for dinning... More

I had to go to the Bureau of immigration Makati Extension for a visa matter and found this Japanese fusion restaurant across the street. The food was excellent and the restaurant had nice ambiance. Price was comparable to chain restaurants in the US (sushi was more expensive but we didn't partake on this visit). A little tucked away but a... More

This place serves proper Izakaya food, which is essentially casual Japanese fusion food. The meaning is often lost here in the Philippines. The food served here is very similar to a lot of places in Japanese cities. Portions are decently sized and filling without being too oily and greasy. Pretty much everything on the menu is decent, except for the... More

The chukadon was served steaming hot and appetizing because of the colors from the veggies. Very generous serving too! For someone who lived in Japan, it is a highly filipinized version, I would say. This is because of the strong ginger flavor, fish sauce seasoning, the use of water chestnut, and the hot, spicy taste from chilli peppers. Chuka, as... More

We always enjoyed the meals we had in this restaurant while it was still located in Creekside in Makati. Now that they moved to Jupiter, the atmosphere is better but the prices have gone up substantially. They took out one of our favorite items in the menu like the eggplant in miso sauce. Parking is quite difficult if you do... More

My sister visited without any notice. We know she love Japanese Food. We wanted to book Seryna but it was full. We tried Tsukimi but no answer. I googled japanese restaurant's in Makati and Mangetsu appeared. Actually my husband was thinking of this resto but he cant remember the name. When we reached the place he was happy, its the...
