Tortelli - la vita est bella in the heart of the city

Really pleasant design, chromatic that takes you to the ground, setting, calm, attention to the client and his needs, delicious home made pasta. All these are the main Tortelli attributes. Italian cuisine: classic pasta about 11 in number, special pasta with seasonal ingredients, soups, desserts. The best pasta in the city. A strength: wine recommendation for each type of food in order to have a complete and extraordinary culinary experience. We add excellent services, short waiting time and get the complete sketch of what this location in the center of Cluj represents. And the services are really amazing. The best of what you can ask.

Surprisingly good

I went here for lunch with my friends as we heard that the food is excellent. They were not wrong at all, the foccacia was delicious. The pasta was awesome too; they say it is home made. The way they serve you is pleasing, because the waiter shreddes Parmesan over your dish and adds as much pepper as you tell him. The place is relatively small, but that is none of my business as it served well what I needed.

This is the place to be in Cluj if you're looking for a plate of spaghetti. Shortly after delivering the hot homemade tagliatelle, the waitress came to ask me how much parmesan I may please on my pasta. Then she started to grate a good piece of Grana Padano right in front of me, boosting the flavor with every movement. With a lovely smile. Top quality parmesan freshly grated on the homemade pasta is how pasta should be served, in a decent restaurant. From this simple detail one can understand how much they care about clients and about their reputation. Tortelli is focused on homemade pasta and there's nothing else in menu. The wine list is created to match the pasta and the wine of choice is suggested for any dish. Another detail that I liked is that they mention the region where any pasta dish is originated from. In addition to wines and prosecco, they also offer an attractive selection of cocktails and Hugo is one of their hits. Visited the place twice in a week and my favorites were Tagliolini alla Putanesca, Gnocchi al Pesto and Gnocchi al Pomodoro e Buffala.

Amazing pasta, even more amazing staff

I love this place. The food is great (and I tried 3 or 4 types of dishes until now) and the staff is soooooo friendly, attentive and fast. The place is cozy, music at the right volume (you can talk to your friends without having to shout, like it happens in many other places). I recommend this place.

The restaurant seemed busy all day - we went quite late for lunch but as we ate there was a queue waiting for a table. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente and all reasonably priced so great for a quick lunch. Right next to the excellent Jewish history museum and the local history museum.

I used to come very often, always ordering gnocchis. The team has been changing quite a lot since lately. The cooks as well..... I had notified a change into my very usual and delicious gnocchis the last time. I got even more disappointed this time. The pomodoro sauce had no more such flavor and gnocchis were flavorless. Above all, portions are very small.

Good pasta and service for great price

Came here for solo dining. Ordered the tagliatelle Bolognese. The noodles were amazing and great peppery meat sauce. Service was prompt and they gave me an English menu so I didn’t have to struggle reading Romanian lol in a lovely part of central Cluj

Best pasta

I've been there a few times until now and never been disappointed. The food is delicious: it's the tastiest pasta in Cluj (according to my taste) and well worth the prices. I've also ordered via delivery a few times and was happy with that experience too. The staff is prompt, friendly, polite, which is all I could ask for from good service. It's one of the few places to eat I'm excited about each time I go.

Rude staff and mediocre pre-made pasta

Very disappointed with Tortelli Pasta Bar. The staff were more interested in socialising with friends either visiting the Bar or passing by than with customers. The member of staff who served us needs training on the menu especially on allergens and how to speak to customers. She was rude. The English menu has allergens listed as numbers with no key to decipher the allergens. When we asked the waitress she shrugged and said she didn't know. My son has a dairy allergy and she said there is dairy in the pasta itself and not just the sauce which would be very unusual. She eventually went inside to find out and found a plain pasta with tomato sauce that he can have. All sauces are pre-made. I understand not everyone is familiar with allergens but training should be giving or at least decent polite staff who just say they don't know but will find out and come back to you. My 6-yesr old daughter had a lasagna which was served on a very hot dish. Any decent human being would warn the customer especially a child that the dish is hot. This didn't happen and my daughter burnt her finger. The food was very mediocre. We have been to lots of restaurants all across Romania on our holiday. Everyone has been polite and helpful. This has easily been the worst restaurant we have visited. In today's climate with so much competition I don't think you can serve mediocre food with terrible staff. Not a good combo. Would not recommend sorry.

Excelent food, excelent service

The food was tasty, the lasagna was hot and freshy made. I think the Tiramisu was also freshly made. It had a nice balance of sweetness, personally I prefer a heavy coffee taste which was missibg but I enjoyed how fresh and how just the right amount of sweet it was. The serving was very patient and not at all rushed which we need more of in other places too.

Savory Pasta, Refreshing Tea and Big Fun in The Sun

Stepping into Tortelli feels like being transported straight to the heart of Italy. The ambiance is warm and inviting, soft ambient lighting, and the faint aroma of garlic and fresh herbs lingering in the air. The service is impeccable, with friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to guide you through the menu, ensuring a delightful dining experience. I personally ordered carbonara pasta, and the taste was beautiful, it went well with some spicy oil and extra parmigiano shaved by our waiter, Robi. They also had a robust green iced tea which was amazing. Really liked the atmosphere, taste and the personnel.

Disappointed

Compared to the experience a few years ago, disappointing. Pasta carbonara would have turned an Italian in his grave, at least if it was made with bacon it might have been better. But the meat used was far from guanciale, perhaps more like "Sibiu salami". And the sauce, almost non-existent, probably jarred sauce from Kaufland. And I have no words for the baked pasta with chicken and mushrooms, the sauce was actually pasta water with a bit of oil and the flavor leaked from the mushrooms and cheese. As Dragoș Neacsa would say, "take this string and tie that sauce" (look it up on Tik Tok for those who don't know). Huge disappointment coming from high expectation. They used to have good pasta. Now I think they are better at Caro.

Great food but poor customer service.

We went on a business meeting at this location and even though the pasta was surprisingly one of the best ones we've tasted in Cluj county, the waiter ruined the experience for us. He was very rude and ignored us on multiple occasions. His name was Robi and he was impatient when we asked for more parmesan cheese on our pasta and when we asked for the check and we chose not to tip, he got angry and asked us to leave immediately.

First time but hope not the past.

Busy spot, sells just few pasta dishes but all good. Host recommended the “special” clams from Italy and pasta. Did not disappoint. Place is a bit noisy but very hip. The pasta is so good I recommend getting as little on it as possible since tomato sauces tend to hid the flavor.

Awesome Night with Awesome Pasta

We stopped for some tea in our trip to Cluj-Napoca today at a local pasta bar. We loved the italian theme added to it, the atmosphere was amazing, it all went together really well. The pasta was great, I had some pesto with a very delicious zucchini. We also got cheesecake which was better than we expected from a pasta place and on top of all of this we met a really nice waiter who was really patient and professional despite being only a teen, his name was Robi. Awesome experience, would highly recommend you visit this place if you are in Cluj-Napoca or somewhere close.
