Very traditional Russian restaurant. Nicely presented Russian food in very worm friendly atmosphere. Attractive national interior. Expensive, but worth of it. You can feel very much in touch with the different country together with all pleasant specific cultural differences in the food habits.

Restaurant with the Russian food with average quality, but unfortunately the whole atmosphere including waitresses and customers "tells" you to visit another location, "we are fine without anyone around". Despite my negative experience, pickles were tasty.

I was taken here by some locals and I was very impressed. It serves well presented Russian food in a pleasant atmosphere. I tried the bear as a main and it was delicious. This was after a selection of hot and cold starters, all washed down with some excellent vodka. The prices were comparable to similar standard restaurants in the... More

Really excellent evening in appropriately calm business friendly atmosphere. Good range of Russian dishes including Russian biltong(yup!) and suckling pig. Quite expensive but recommended.

This a traditional Russian restaurant, serving very good traditional Russian cuisine (part of the menu is based on very old recipes). The interior resembles a house with authentic touches, feeling welcoming and calm. The service is quite formal but very professional and efficient. English menus are available and explanations are offered. Clearly popular amongst the Russian community - always a... More

Went there with a friend on recommendations from local Moscow acquaintances. Certainly nice decor and atmosphere, friendly service. Looks like waiters communicated with foreign guests in Spanish and English. It is a little tourirsty, and called after Oblomov, a hero of Ivan Goncharov classic book, lazy sybarite, and big time foodie of 19th century. The menu and wine list are... More

Been here for dinner. It's like a travel through time. You really feel you are back to the Zar times. The menu is rich with dishes that come from the Russian tradition. The service is accurate and at the right level of friendliness. You can find here dishes cooked with bear meat. The price seem to be in line with... More

This is a nice place. You can sit outside in a covered area or go inside to the restaurant that has a old house feel going on. Food was excellent. Waitress could cheer up a bit though!

Staying in Zamoskvorechye

Neighbourhood Profile
Zamoskvorechye
It wouldn’t be a mistake to call Pyatnitskaya street the main axis of this neighborhood – turn one direction and you’ll find the Tretyakov Gallery in Lavrushinsky Lane, turn another – a hip Scandinavian restaurant. Old churches now embrace contemporary life with style and grace. Going to Zamoskvorechye is like visiting during the times when it was a medieval Russian quarter, but with a modern twist of 20th century buildings pushing themselves into the 21st century with new businesses opening weekly. Stroll down Pyatnitskaya to taste dozens of global cuisines – from Ukrainian and Georgian to Thai and American.
