So we had a nice meal and the food was good but all this was ruined by the fact the waiter suggested we have a glass of champagne as a Russian tradition to start (?!) - Moët and Chandon - £20 a glass. Now we don't mind spending a bit on a lovely meal but, frankly, that was ridiculous and... More

We were here for the second time with our friends. Make the reservastion well in advance and do it in written. Even though we booked a table for us in the Library well in advance, due to the poor Enghish of the the girl that took our booking, they mistook the hour, instead of 8 they booked at 7. So... More

Pros: amazing beluga caviar, the best i've ever had. I also tried the main dish which was a russian 5 mini course experience, it was amazing, specially the podorski (?) chicken. The architecture is amazing. great service. Cons: the price ;)

Loved this quaint place. We were in the strobe walled basement- warm and comfortable. Pleasant service and really delicious food-boar with red wine sauce and mash, pork knuckle and chillies followed by delicious puds. I think a cover charge is added to the bill which displeased a group of young Greeks who caused a bit of fuss by refusing to... More

Everything was really great: food, location and staff. The feeling is to be projected back in 1820. Good choice of food and wines and nice atmosphere. Obviously, the price is definitely not cheap. A great choice for an outstanding event.

The dinning experience feels like a relaxing day in the museum - stunning decorations, very atmospheric, great service. What's even more impressive is how way they've maintained their standards, all the while operating 24 hours, everyday, for the last 17 years. A little expensive but definitely worth it!

Very nice and elegant restaurant. The atmospheric dining room is from another era along with the excellent service. Typical food as well. 5/5

The location is fantastic in the middle of Moscow, Walking in makes one feel like they are walking into a house of royalty, with classic antique interiors with amazing piped classical music to boot. The staff are extra helpful and always available. The variety of drinks and food are pretty diverse with a very big menu to choose from. A... More

I do not think this is the restaurant I would visit many times being in Moscow, but to visit is once is a must. It is real high style. About menu: I highly recommend home baked pies, mixed fish soup and beetroot soup. Beef-Stroganoff was not good as I expected, but lamb tenderloin was OK. And - absolute must! -... More

Staying in Tverskaya

Neighbourhood Profile
Tverskaya
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.
