My visit, along with friends who live in Irkutsk and who took me to this Poznaya Na Kanadzavy (aka ПОЗЫ) location was very good. I enjoyed my Greek Salad and the visit with my friends. It was a lunch-time visit and ПОЗЫ was very busy. Not-to-worry, we were in no rush and we enjoyed our lunch in good time. I believe that there are eight (8) locations of the ПОЗЫ restaurants. This was my second visit to one of their eight locations.

Went here because of the good reviews and was not disappointed. A little hard to find, down a quiet street but check the listing photos for the restaurant entrance (I could see no resemblance between the name on here and the restaurant sign!)
Go up to the counter and order - there is a menu there and the staff were very friendly, spoke good English and recommended some dishes for me.
Very tasty traditional food and incredible value for money. 3 buryat dumplings to start, a main and a large bottle of Bavarian beer for around 350 roubles.

In downtown Irkutsk there is no need to go to expensive fancy places to eat. The local baozi place on the Japanese sounding street of Kanadzava is the answer for a hungry traveller on a tight budget. I came here in the evening. the place was not empty, people were coming and leaving. Quite a popular hangout. I ordered and paid at the counter, took a seat and waited for my food. I ordered six pozy(local baozi) and a cup of hot tea. It was around 200-300 rubles. They have alcohol as well - beer and vodka. It was raining cats and dogs outside so I enjoyed being at this cosy and warm place.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, and even when you go in you seem to be in little more than a cafe, but go up to the counter, order your food and drink and be excellently looked after, eating fine food and drinking fine beer or vodka, all for remarkably little money. Even if you don't speak Russian, don't worry - everybody is extremely friendly and helpful and you will eat well. Enjoy!
