We had a family trip to Xi'an & stayed across the road in Zhubashi Lu. Tried the famous Chinese hamburgers here for breakfast with my boys but were a bit disappointed. Better fare is to be found on the street in the Muslim Quarter.
Eat like the local: One roujiamo (similar to pulled pork in a bun) followed by a bowl of soup. The homemade rice wine is also a nice accompaniment to the roujiamo.
