We had a decent kaiseki meal at Kitcho. The private room and service were elegant and impeccable. The overall experience reasonably enjoyable. But we spent $1250 for the two of us with minimal alcohol. And the food was not even close to worth it. Mediocre...More

Kitcho was truly a wonderful experience. Very peaceful, delicious with creative food. We had two bottle of home sake which was really wonderful and refined. Very pleasant. Less pleasant was the bill. $1200 for two people for this meal was a complete ripoff. I'm sorry....More

Truly, delicious starts before eating the dish. Our best dinner encounter by far. It all came together beautifully, the wonderful dishes, bamboo garden, tatami flooring, kakejiku ... wow!

They told us this is the best restaurant in Japan and they were probably right. We had note-perfect service and enjoyed every moment. For those who aren't familiar with Japanese food, I think the refinements might be lost on them. You can't compare this to...More

As one would expect the experience here was superlative. The building is beautiful, as are the private room. The presentation of the food was excellent as was the quality of the ingredients. Our hostess spoke good English.

Western Kyoto is home to some of the city's best
eccentricities. Kyoto's Saga-Toriimoto Preserved
