This is a perfect place to crash in your late night worries. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're at home. A lot of foreigners and English speakers in this place. Another plus side is that the bartenders know what they're doing and the food is delicious. The only downside is that it can get very crowded and the space... More

It might be just a small pub outside the main train station but it has loads of character! The staff are really friendly and speak excellent English. Well worth a visit if you're nearby, and considering it's outside the main station, it's easy to get to from anywhere in Kyoto.

We were surprised to find an Irish pub in Kyoto... The beer was good, my wife had a Pina Colada and they played the song! It was very smoky, which destroyed the experience for us.

Atmosphere was brilliant, staff were really relaxed and a great laugh! Food was a short menu but was to a really good standard and the beer was superb! All in all its located in a perfect place and is a really cool little pub to chill at in the evening and either chat to staff or watch a movie or... More

Man in the moon has about 3 outlets in Kyoto. The one at Kyoto station is the one we went to. It's literally right outside the station. Capacity wise it's a smallish place but the ambience is pretty nice. The bartenders all speak English and Japanese. The food is pretty decent too. You want to try the butter prawns. Besides... More

Good selection of beer. ok snakin's. Not a bad place. Kinda pricy, but it's Japan so expected. Only take cash, so be ready.

Went there for a quick bite to eat and a beer. I was greeted by Robert, a fellow Canadian. Very friendly. Seeing him transition between English, French, and Japanese was fantastic! It's a pretty small place but that seems to be pretty standard here. The beer selection was quite good considering it's in Japan! Blue Moon, Kilkenny, Guinness, Stella, a... More

Went in tonight and got served by the least enthusiastic bar maid in the whole of Japan! Felt like it was a real struggle just to serve us

This is an Irish pub located within the premises of Kyoto station. They serve wide variety of Beer as well as snacks. Portion sizes, are a little small, but the quality is great. The staff is friendly and helpful, and definitely worth a stop to have a drink and a snack during a Kyoto visit or intersection.

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighbourhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
