If you like Kobe meat or try out the mystic of Japanese steaks then this is a place to go. We have been there twice already and we can say that the service was always good, the quality of the food, especially the Kobe meat was excellent. If you don't know rice with garlic try this out as a side... More

Hi! we were a couple that visit this reaturant on December 2016. We were really excited with this restaurant as we've read a lot of good critics, not just in trip advisor, but in other media. The beef was great, really well cooked. And the vegetables served next to it, also really good. But for the expensive it was, we... More

I am sorry we went to Misono Kyoto. It was an overall adequate restaurant with hugely expensive prices. As other reviewers have pointed out, the restaurant décor is shabby. The other major issue I had was poor ventilation. The food is cooked "Benihana" style, at high temperature right in front of you. Our table got extremely smoky during the cooking... More

My wife and I have had Tepanyaki many times before, but we wanted to try Kobe beef The beef was wonderful and lived up to reputation. We chose to have the lobster and Kobe option. The lobster was overcooked. The salad was of a minor cafe standard. The garlic, onions and mushrooms excellent. Our chef was excellent but NOT Japanese, no.... More

Spent a LOT load of money to eat amazing steak! CONS: * Decor of the place was awful, felt like a swiss chalet vs. a Japanese luxurious restaurant (which is what they claim to be) * Service, I sound our server to be kinda rude and non caring * Our server was not Japanese which also seemed odd to me... On our first evening in Kyoto we wanted to eat something special, and what could be more special than Steak. So after a long hard day of temple trekking we went to the concierge of our hotel and asked for a suggestion. As we were keen on staying in the area she suggested Misono, very honestly telling us that it... More

A bit shabby considering the prices. The steak (we splashed out on the top quality Kobe) and the Lobster (wriggling in front of us on the hot plate after being spatchcocked alive - in the kitchen - only moments prior) were both amazing and the steak was the best I've ever had - having been lucky enough to sample some... It,s very expensive, and without justification. I can understand it Good cuality of food (Kobe), normal services for this kind of restaurant, regular drinks and the bill was too much expensive. I don't recommend this place because relations price / cuality / services is bad.

In my experience, no food worth eating in Japan is cheap. Prices are about 40% more than comparable places in the US (but remember, you have to factor in you're saving around 20% by not tipping in Japan). Still, this place is expensive! 23,000 yen for a small steak and small lobster tail. That said, the beef (Kobe) is very... More

My wife and I both ordered the Kobe steak. The garlic and the Kobe steak were a dynamite combination. Everything else about the dinner was good, but nothing to write home about. We have to say that this was the best steak we have ever had. Considering that we come from Houston, Texas, this is not faint praise. On the... More
