I ate dinner here last night and the food was as good as I have had anywhere. The pizza was delicious and the scampi with linguini was great. Service was good, friendly staff. If you are tired of Japanese food, definitely come here

Everything Jonathan C said was true. We had the same experience last night walking around trying to find somewhere to eat with our two children. We arrived at the restaurant around 7:30pm and were asked if we had a reservation. We did not having just arrived in Kyoto that day (a Monday). The restaurant was barely half full. We were... More

Garlic pasta, blows your mind as too strong. Salad too salty and mozzarella too dry. 6000 yens for a basic bottle of chianti, is not acceptable.

I'd like to say we were able to try the food at this establishment. However, we were unable to make it past the doorway. Upon entering the restaurant, a gentleman, who was either the manager or the owner promptly greeted us by saying "have reservation?" My family of four did not. Less than half of the 30-40 seats were occupied,... More

Visited this place because it was late and there did not seem to be anywhere else in the area. We had a pizza and spaghetti with clams. The pizza was very small for the price and while the pasta was quite nice, it too was over priced and certainly not the nicest I have had in either Italy or any... More

I had the Y2800 set menu, plus a bottle of Italian red. It was outstanding.Appetizers are Japanese influences using local ingredients and beautifully prepared. I had fettuccine with clams and my friend a simple pizza. This is outstanding food and outstanding value by any measure. Great service. Will stand up anywhere in the world. It deserves the Michelin rating that... More

Very nice and relaxed Italian restaurant. Excellent food. Great service. Located opposite the entrance of the Four Seasons Hotel. We have been in many fine Italian restaurants in Italy, France, The Netherlands and in New York. This fine Italian Restaurant in Kyoto can easily compete with the quality of these restaurants, a very pleasant surprise!

We ordered a set menu and everything was perfect. You must try this restaurant. It is owned and run for now more than 20 years by this Japanese gentleman who actually cooks the pizza at the brick oven himself. Their pizza is one of the best, comparable even to pizza in Sicily.

This restaurant has a trattoria atmosphere and the food is really good. The wood burning pizza oven is a real asset; it does only two pizzas at a time but they are worth waiting for. The rest of the menu was also thoroughly enjoyable.
