We took the 8,000 yen lunch set which had 10 courses. Just 12 seats on the ground floor of the restaurant, a very refined ambience. We were given an English menu of the courses which was very helpful. A lot of attention and detail has...More

My second visit this year. The food is amazing and it comes piping hot when it should be. Going back for lunch in two days time to enjoy.

Totally agree with the other 3 star reviews of this place. The taste is only average. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

We walked in by accident without a reservation. We could sit upstairs and had a chef there who made all the hot dishes. We could choose from three set-menu's. we choose the middle one and we choose right. Course after course it was a feast...More

Came here for my one high end meal while in Japan. I chose Kigawa as i read an article that recommended it. I had the 12 course meal that was 22 000 YEN + drinks. I would say 9/12 dishes were 10/10. Fantastic food! The...More

Overall found most dishes to be lacking in flavour . Not sure if Kappo is meant to highlight the natural beauty of each ingredient , so much so that most dishes were very mediocre. A little more seasoning would have gone a very long way....More

We booked Kigawa with the help of our friend in Japan. Reservation is highly recommended as this place is quite popular. We pre-ordered our sets for lunch (5k and 8k yen per pax) but they offered us a special menu for 7k per pax which...More

I adore this place. It's located along a little alley that looks like it came from another era. And the restaurant is small but really nice and clean. They have kindly prepared an English menu for us and explain the difference between each price tier....More

If you want to experience traditional kappo cuisine, come here for a good value (it's still pricey but one of the better deals in town). They do all their fish courses and broths really well. Staff is friendly and speak some English.

We had ten courses. It was a truly beautiful meal and the service was just lovely. Interesting dishes, great sauces, lots of flavour. It was great watching the chef's at work. One of the staff spoke excellent English and they translated our menu. A very...More

When you looking at the running man on the bridge in the pedestrian area, you go left into the big shopping street. Then the second shopping street to the right. After that, you have to be careful, take the first small alley... More

The ¥5,000 , ¥8,000, and ¥12,000 selections is true for lunch. I am not sure if it's the same price for dinner. I would say that it's better to reserve and let them know your allergies / dislikes so they can prepare... More

You would have to book it via your hotel. They do not accept reservations otherwise.
