Before my last visit to Skippers, I had had positive experiences. But my first time sitting at a table with a friend of another race, when I asked for more napkins, the young man who waited on us, pretty much threw the napkins on the table from a distance, no smile, nothing. My friend and I looked at each other... More

Having lived in Massachusetts for over 2 decades, I was hoping this place would bring back those well known seafood flavors and aromas. The fish was OK, not big in taste but freshly done. The fries were soggy, starchy and needed slathering in ketchup to be eaten. The place is OK, and the decor does resemble the seafood small restaurants... More

Great seafood, large portions and a good selection. Best seafood around Apex and very nice staff. The onion rings are great and homemade.

One thing is for sure - the atmosphere and line for fried seafood felt a lot like great fish fry places in coastal New England. The fish, not surprisingly, is not quite as good as what we were spoiled on. Not bad, I would go again with friends but I prefer Dean's in Cary despite the cool atmosphere of Skipper's.

The seafood is always fresh, served hot , and tasty. Most is fried, but they also serve grilled fish. The cole slaw and tartar sauce are very good. I wish that they served baked potatoes. They are always pleasant. The dining is very casual. They have very good take out for locals.

If you're going to splurge on your diet and eat fried food, this is the place to do it - there is no skimping. I've gotten the fried shrimp, baby shrimp, oysters, scallops, fish, it's all good. Nice light batter and seasonings so you are tasting the fish not what it's dipped in. Very casual, pay at the counter type... More

I really don't eat much fried food these days but, when the craving for good fried seafood hits me, I head to Skippers. The food is well prepared, lightly breaded and fried just right. My favorite is the fish sandwich which is ridiculously large (in a good way). The sandwich is not a square "fish cake" on a bun, rather,... More

This a classic North Carolina seafood restaurant. Not fancy but seafood done right. This Calabash style seafood, fried and lightly breaded. We had flounder, large shrimp, oysters, and scallops. Everything was excellent. Friendly and helpful describes the staff. They also have a bar, mostly beer. Will likely return. A great location for seafood in the triangle area.

My wife and I each ordered the fish sandwich, which was very good, and it included a large portion of fish.
