Funky eclectic foodie place! Cash or check only. Doesn't serve alcohol, but you can bring your own wi e with a 5$ re corking fee. Menu is heavy on seafood, but does have excellent chicken and steak selections. 86$ with tip for 1 starter, 1 salad, 2 entrees, and a dessert. Great for date night family dinner or dinner with friends.

We’re not weekly or monthly regulars but make a point to hit them several times a year and more often when they advertise great specials. Their chowder and bisque are always a hit and recently placed a lobster pot pie on the appetizer list. Truth be told, that and a salad was a meal. FYI- it’s byob and no credit.

Where to start, the food is consistently superior, fresh, well seasoned, nice presentation. The service is very pleasant and efficient with out rushing you. It is an intimate restaurant with a very eclectic fun decor as well. If you would like adult beverages with your meal, you do have to bring your own, and the cork fee is nominal. Our go to place especially for seafood, and their lobster bisque is fabulous.

My husband and I ate lunch before visiting a local Christmas mansion tour. The food was excellent, the menu was elegant and the service was attentive. We had lobster bisque and salads. My husband had an excellent brown ale. Their wine and spirits selection is surprising for an establishment of its size. The restaurant is located within a residential area with lots of cobblestone steps. Not sure if it is ADA accessible. Lunch was $60 including tax and tip. We would definitely return if we were in the area.

We wanted to use our Groupon coupon for a online order. The Chowder House said they wouldn’t honor the Groupon it’s only for dine in. With COVID-19 being so bad we don’t feel that it’s safe dining inside. What’s the purpose of having online ordering!

The management is the ABSOLUTE WORST. Please Do yourself a favor and never patronize this place. They DO NOT care about their customers. The owner Louis is letting his manager who is apparently always HUNGRY ,RUDE and untrained ruin his establishment. I do want to shout out the 2 servers we had BOTH OF THEM WERE EXCELLENT. I’m hoping you both can go work with someone who cares about their customers.. You both deserve so much better

Food served was luke warm and cream sauce a little overbearing. Again, little gnats were present even during the winter season which makes one wonder why.

Came because food reviewers gave it a high rating. Drove down from Willoughby - 40 minutes - but wasn't disappointed. The ambiance is frunky arty and it's BYO for wine and cash only (no credit cards). But the food was very good. Had the chowder (no potatoes just lots of clams) then a plate of blue point oysters and then a papardelle with scallops and shrimp in a lobster sauce. Finished with a piece of red velvet cake with mascarpone frosting. My companion had the cioppino. We both loved our dinners and made a deal to meet there again and soon.

A great little place and delicious meals! We arrived early to avoid crowds on a Friday. No worries. The shrimp and grits appetizer was fabulous! We purchased a groupon to return again soon!

Ordered the lobster bisque, although it tasted alright it was served lukewarm. Numerous times small flies or gnats constantly buzzed our meals. Restaurant needs a good cleaning. Attempted to purchase the 2 entrees for $35 during the Tues thru Thurs period using a Groupon with no promotional value ($30) just the $19.50 spent on it. Was told because Groupon takes a percentage (even though I offered to pay the percentage) they would not honor. No where on the menu or did waitress inform us that Groupon with no promotional value could not be used with the 2 for $35. Their current website states 2 for $30.

The first time we went we overlooked the interior of the place because the food was really good. Yes its eclectic! you might say but was not clean. We did go back and the food was good but not as good as the first time. Also the employees were smoking out a back door and it filtered in throughout the restuarant. The chef likes to come around so we said well the food was good but smelling smoke kinda ruined it. He got mad and said that he cant help if patrons were smoking outside, Which was a lie! The place is small and you could see noone was outside! anyhow it still wasnt any cleaner and Im sure we can get a good chowder somewhere else.

Eclectic atmosphere for sure. Used to be a coffee house in its’ prior life which was about 10 years ago. Paintings on wall give it a really cool vibe. This place is all about serving quality, well prepared food. We really enjoyed our dinner. Both the clam chowder and lobster bisque are excellent! You can’t go wrong with either one so best plan is to get both and share. Love the clam chowder without the potatoes which I just see as filler. I had the special of grouper which was very good. Other entrees ordered were the scallop risotto. Nice sear on the scallops and the risotto was well prepared. Other entree ordered was the seafood pappardelle with lobster, scallops and shrimp made with fresh pasta. Excellent! They don’t have a liquor license but you can bring in your own wine for a $5 corkage fee. Service was stellar! Diana was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. We don’t live in the area but has to be one of the best places around. Definitely recommend!
