Only one gripe: they charge for extra capers, which kinda shocked me. But that aside: large portions of good food: pasta, fish, chicken, etc.($15-$20) Some of the best burgers around. ($10) Usually a pretty good draft list of 10-12, plus bottles and can, and some nice pours on the bourbons and whiskeys of the world. This is my GO-TO place... More

This is a tired tavern with at best average food although if you're looking for large portions this is your place. Service is ok and if you're lucky you can get a window view.

After being disappointed at Philadelphias 30th street station I was happy to see this beautiful wide space I loved the statues high up on the walls.

Mccloskey's is a beautiful building on a side street off Haverford Road. The beer selection is good, the food is decent, and the jazz is great. Overall a solid little pub in a nice area of the Mainline.

Stopped in because it was close by a show we were seeing. Very welcoming place servers and greeters are very friendly! Ordered wings and potato skins which were extremely over cooked. Our sever assured us they are known for their wings. Should have asked if that was good or bad. Apparently they are cooked in the oven then fried when... More

I am starting to make a habit of going to McCloskey's on Monday nights for the music. Great sort of open mic for jazz musicians and vocalists of all ages and a spot for locals to hang. Wine and beer reasonably priced, the hummus appetizer was good and generously portioned.

McCloskey's is not only a great restaurant with great food but the bar is fun and the people are welcoming. It's the oldest Irish bar on the Mainline and it's definitely a neighborhood gem.

My wife, daughter, and I had to be in Ardmore over lunch and thought that McCloskey's Tavern, on an off street, had a lot of old world charm and decided that this was the place for lunch. Visiting with grandchildren in the upper teens, this proved to be a perfect place to sit back and not hurry through our meal. The burgers are large and varid and quite good according to my grandson. The food and staff are great. The initial wait time on a Friday night could have deterred others but not our group of 4. It's a local place, many familiar faces and the 15-20 minute quote was gone in a blink of an eye. A perfectly made Manhattan and the recommended evening specials were the highlights.
