A friend and I were driving up the coast from Charleston and I am so glad we stopped! Unbelievable steamed oysters by the bucket, fried green tomatoes, "seewee style" shrimp! We will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed the food & the staff. Delicious, old fashioned burger. Free hush puppies were really good too.

No matter where in the Lowcountry you live, this place is worth the drive. On a summer evening, get a beverage and sit outside under the old oaks and listen to someone with a guitar serenaded you into a laid back southern summer night. And then go inside, or to the covered more open area, and enjoy some of the... More

This is still one of our favorites in the Charleston area. The prices are less than in Charleston - Mt. Pleasant area. The food comes in large portions with great "country sides" like okra, green tomatoes, mac & cheese, etc. The seafood is terrific - particularly, the she crab soup (with hushpuppies).

my first time lunch experience was pretty awesome. Fresh, hot massive fries and onion rings, eggplant, and seafood(great fried oysters and Grouper). So fresh, as was the coleslaw. Had a tasty local IPA and took home a delicious piece of house made coconut cake. Enjoyed the quaint, typical low country roadside ambiance.. Service was very friendly but, maybe, a little... More

It may not look like much from the outside, but the food more than makes up for it! Be prepared, the majority of the menu is fried, but is done properly where it's not greasy or chewy. And make sure to get their banana pudding, just like grandma use to make! I have never had banana pudding like this, since... More

Always a favorite when in Charleston area- wonderful low country foot- no fancy sauces- exotic wines, or fancy nancy stuff. Just good southern fried seafood, great cakes, and fun specials. Do not expect large groups to just walk in, can be a wait on weekends. Family owned and great people.

Years ago this was the place to eat in Awendaw. Our friends all would gather there for some of the best low-country food available but no more. The last three times we ate there the food was OK not the place it once was. And the reason we went back three times in a row was we were hopping we... More

Let me say up front that this is an old time coastal lowcountry seafood restaurant and not a five star Atlanta fine dining establishment. That said, the fried oyster and shrimp lunch my wife & I had was absolutely the best we have ever had in any restaurant. Very lightly breaded oysters and shrimp with no grease on the plate,... More
