Same good food in a pleasant new restaurant. Not too pricey but the BBQ is very good and the sides are nice.

Wow, absolutely the worst meal we've ever had. Been on the road 14+ days. Sausage was gross, husbands brisket and jalapeno sausage was terrible and cold. The french fries were even bad. Stay away...left a really bad taste in our mouths. $32.00.

I manage a hotel in Abilene, & we host dinner options in the evening, one of which is "local flavor" & we chose this brand new facility. BIG mistake--& with an average of 200 guests in my hotel per day, you bet I'll be sending them right to Joe Allen's. 10 pounds of meat was nearly $200.00--astronomical. The food was... More

You can't go wrong anything on the menu from BBQ to ribs, chicken and chopped beef sandwiches. I love the roasted turkey topped with their wonderful BBQ sauce. Make sure you leave room for banana pudding!

Great food and nice people and it was very clean. The one draw back was the price of the food for the. Amount you get.

My fiancé and I had lunch here our first day in Abilene and it was even better than I had hoped! The ribs fell right off the bone and were so tender! The decor and setup are very cool! The old signage decor really made it feel like we were in a down home style place. I would love to... More

When you have brisket in your name, I would expect it to be good. It was dry. Very dry. The turkey was not good either. The bright spots were the Polish sausage (delicious) and the catfish. Perhaps I expected too much, but I was disappointed.

Perhaps it is the really strange caricature of Betty Rose (a real person) on the sign that draws you into the restaurant for the first time. On Thursdays, they have a dollar BBQ sandwich night that brings in the crowds, but mostly as TOGO food. You can't complain about the beef - they trim it well, and that can't be... More
