So disappointing that our final meal in Austin was a negative experience. It started out with such potential as the Veracruzana (red wine-braised octopus, charred tomatoes, picholine olives, saffron aioli, tostadsas) and Vida De Camaron (poached shrimp, salsa vida, avocado, celery, cilantro, smoked pasilla) were both quite good. The $2 Bloody Mary's or Mimosa's also started the meal on a... More

Mexican food is generally very predictable so we enjoyed the unique ingredients and flavor combinations in both food and cocktails. The Hamachi Ceviche was to die for and our favorite dish we had!! Tortilla soup was good and tacos were as well. Guacamole wasn't the best we've ever had...kind of bland. And some of the cocktails are served in tiny... More

We both had red snapper tacos, very good fresh fish. Originally I had booked Lambert's bbq across the street, but since they closed to honor illegal aliens, they have lost my business for good.

Stopped in for dinner with no reservation. Got an immediate seat in the bar on the patio. Since this is a tapas place, we had many different plates. The ceviche dishes are to die for. Especially the Hamachi dish. The drinks are great. Not too stiff, but strong enough to get the job done. Great quality. The rest of the... More

It's a surprise when you don't get free chips and salsa in Austin, but hey, you're downtown and we've turned into a big city. Fish tacos and a glass of wine (beer would go better, trust me) will set a couple back about $70 so it's not cheap. It's convenient and convivial, service is pretty good, it's busy and fun.... More

We got there as the last customers before closing, so not sure if that was the problem for this highly recommended restaurant. The location is in the business district which isn't scenic but the atmosphere is good with a modern industrial design. The staff was great and the menu had such unusual items. Our guacamole tasting platter was nice but... More

I ate at La Condesa during a recent business trip. I found the place to be quite fun and the food wonderful. One of the best burgers I have had in a long time. It was on the lunch menu in the torta section and was described as: "richardson farms ground sirloin, tomato jam, caramelized onions, manchego cheese, easy tiger... More
