Good Southern Fried Chicken but more upscale. As usual the portion sizes are large, so you can expect to take some home. I always get the same thing, so this reviews is solely based on their famous fried chicken, collard greens & mashed potatoes. 👍🏾👍🏾...More

The place is hip, the staff are friendly, the beer and window selection is great, BUT the Fried egg sandwich is beyond amazing! It’s got crunchy bread and gooey velvety cheese and hard fries Eggs seasoned perfectly! This is a must try!

We had brunch at Max's and it was not only excellent food, but a very family-friendly atmosphere. The food was a little expensive, but in the end the quality and creativity was worth the price.

Was here for dinner at the end of a business conference last week. The food and wine were phenomenal. For a Tuesday night, the restaurant was packed. I ordered the fried chicken and champagne salad and it was delicious. The only downside to the restaurant,...More

This is not my first time at Max's. I always enjoy a great meal and a friendly and helpful staff. I would highly recommend using their private party space.

I cannot say enough about Max's Wine Dive 😍 The food was amazing and the wine selection was plentiful. We ordered ridiculous amounts of food, unable to decide. Chef Robert came out and introduced himself, ensured everything was to our liking. Even if the food...More

Our Austin friends said we had to try here and so for a Saturday brunch after all morning in the History of Texas Museum, we walked down to Max's. As it was Saturday we had the brunch rather than lunch menu, but as we were...More

Description
There's nothing wrong with sipping remarkable wine to a bit of rock n' roll in the Live Music Capital of the World is there? Nah, we didn't think so either. Welcome to MAX's Wine Dive Austin. Perched on the corner of 2nd Street and San Jacinto Blvd., a stone's throw from The Austin Convention Center and a stroll from The Texas State Capital Building, MAX's Wine Dive is the stop for your dining experience in the heart of downtown Austin. Embracing the music that pumps Austin's veins, MAX's Wine Dive goes above and beyond what you ever thought a wine bar or restaurant was supposed to be. With a vast array of gourmet comfort food with a twist, locally sourced farm to table taste bud tacklers from Executive Chef Erica Beneke (yeah, you may know her as the winner of Chopped), and a wine list that includes fan favorite labels, unique and interesting selections and some privately sourced options, we mean to leave our mark on the restaurant and wine bar scene. MAX's Wine Dive Austin is one of the largest Wine Dives due to the tremendous event space downstairs known as "The Underground." Stretching more than 6,000 square feet beneath the restaurant and our two neighboring establishments, "The Underground" is comprised of three separate rooms, all varying in size and décor. "The Lounge" is home to our high-end wine cellar and lockers, and is the perfect space for private diners, business meetings or wine socials. "The Vintage" offers a bit more room for larger affairs such as anniversary and birthday parties or corporate work gatherings. Lastly, our "Grand Reserve", which is our largest space, can accommodate anything from weddings to rehearsal dinners, to large-scale celebrations of any sort! Whether you're celebrating in "The Underground" or hanging out upstairs and marveling over Chef Erica's delectable dishes, we are here to ensure you have a memorable experience. So if you're catching some of Austin's live music up on 6th Street, looking for some light bites and bubbles after a walk around Lady Bird Lake or coming in from seeing our famous Austin Bats on the Congress Street Bridge, be sure to hit up our comfortable and cool atmosphere. We will be the restaurant with aromas of Grandma's cooking wafting outside of the door, and Johnny Cash slinging Folsom Prison banter over our speakers.
