After waiting in line of not too long for Franklin, I found the food to be good but not great. I feel they are a bit overrated but good food.

Franklin really lives up to their reputation. "THE BEST BBQ IS TEXAS". The staff was ever fun and professional.

For BBQ lovers still seeking the promised land, you need look no further than Franklin Barbecue on East 11th St. in Austin. This shouldn't come as a shock to anyone, given all the accolades Franklin has received recently. What I find most comical are the "critics" who would downgrade this BBQ simply because you have to wait in line for... More

Waited in line for an hour and a half in the cold rain. Staff brought out coffee, water and beers! Finally got inside and pretty much ordered everything on the menu except for the ribs, which they ran out of, but it was soo worth it!

First of all, I am a Texan with many cookoffs under my belt, including the Jack Daniels National, so I know something about national, state and regional representation of BBQ. Suffice to say that, for many, BBQ is akin to Mom's meatloaf or Granny's chocolate cake. What one grew up with is THE favorite of all time. But if you... More

We got hooked when they were in a trailer on Interstate 35. We purchased on several occasions when the only problem was whether they were going to run out. AT first I did not appreciate the quality of the BBQ. I was looking for more smoke. However, the pepper and salt bark on a really tender brisket is a style... More

Average food and service. Overrated just because someone took Obama there. Rudys is far better and priced better. I would never go there again. Silly to wait for poor service and Average food!

I would recommend getting a group together and ordering in advance to skip the line. That's what I've done and it's just as delicious (maybe even more so) at home. The brisket is really amazing and you must try it though. The rest of the meat is tasty, and the sides are okay, but don't waste your stomach space on... More

I have always wanted to try Franklin's BBQ so one day I was driving by and there was no line. I said they must be sold out but I stopped and went in. They had a few things left. It was very good but I would not wait 3 hours to eat there. There are just as good idea if... More

WOW...the brisket didn't disappoint! It was fantastic!! We arrived around 10:30 am to see a long line outside (this was a Wednesday in the summer.) As they came around to see what everyone is going to order (to make sure there'll be enough before wasting time in line) they informed us that we could go straight to the front if... More
