Fantastic meal and great service too! Elise, our server (see photo) was genuinely friendly, very efficient, and made a really good meal even better. Thanks Elise! Sat outside, nice lake/pond view and a wonderful sunset and shadows on the lake/pond. A truly outstanding (large) hamburger, with perfectly crunchy bacon and a nice charbroil flavor. French fries were delicious also. My wife enjoyed the burger as well. We had mussels to start, which was a nice portion and extremely tasty with a great broth and nice bread. The house red wine was very good according to my wife and my martini was exceptional, slightly dirty. Wonderful happy hour dining experience. We had not been to this restaurant in a good while and we need to put it on our list to go more frequently. Three cheers to the chef!

We love Roaring Fork! The food, atmosphere, and staff are outstanding! We sat outside near the lake. It was absolutely gorgeous with the sun setting and people walking by on a trail near the restaurant. I can’t say enough about the incredible hosts and servers. They are so professional, friendly, and attentive! They serve a wide variety of sumptuous items, such as grilled steaks, roasted chicken, grilled fish, and burgers. Yummy! It is my very favorite restaurant in Austin! Thank you to Eric, Dio, Michele, Sarah, Danielle, Banks, Debbie, and Gonzalo!

Outstanding food and exceptional service! There's a nice variety on the menu. Each of our party of five ordered something different, and we were all happy with our choices. Salmon was delicious, and the filet was so tender and flavorful. I had the pork tenderloin. It, too, was perfect. Our server, Red, was experienced and professional. I will request him when I return.

Service was great but the Oscar style steak was beyond salty and not very tender. So salty we couldn’t even enjoy the taste of the steak. Avoid regardless of the great reviews, unless you are a lover of heavy salt seasoning!

Well... the hosts and Servers are great. They are attentive and friendly. Sadly they have to serve overpriced mediocre food and deal with managers that don't want families the dine in the restaurant. With good weather, the outside dining can be a pleasant experience. However, if you come with a child, expect the outside to be the only place they want you to be so you don't disturb the couples inside. We've never had any issues at this establishment until we had a child. During our last visit, our daughter was hungry and fussy as she was teething a bit. You could tell the table next to us was upset they were sat next to us in the first place so go figure they complain to the manager the first noise she makes. Not sure if it's because we were an interracial couple or they just didn't like kids but they gave us the snarky face from the get go as we were there first. Even when my daughter waved at them and said "Hi" they gave her a dirty look and turned away. Our daughter eventually really did get upset and we had to actually get up from the table to calm her down. The manager came and told us we had to move outside or leave. She had already stopped crying at this point but he persisted. It was below 65 outside and windy, so we told him no, we weren't moving outside. He didn't budge and simply said he'd take care of the wine and appetizer whe'd just received and we could leave. I almost made a scene but decided to leave. The couple next to us said thank you to him loudly as we passed by, I snapped on the couple and we left. I came back in right after to ask for money for the gift care we had for roaring fork since I didn't intend to return, no questions, the manager did so. No other option, apology, nothing, further showing that he didn't want us as a customer. Once again not sure if it was because we were a young interracial couple or if we had a child but he wanted nothing to do with us and you could tell. I went and tipped our server and we left. I didn't want him screwed out of money on the day before valentines because of the manager. If you're a couple with no children, go for happy hour when there's good weather and decent prices and enjoy yourself. That's the only good thing they have, the entrees are overpriced and bland. I've emailed the general manager with no reply. We'll see if they get their act together and address it. I was a server and bartender for 10 years during college and my first few years as a teacher, we never treated a table with an upset child like that, it's really ashamed and disappointing. Do better Roaring Fork, Do Better.

I have eaten here numerous times. I have even bought holiday gift cards for.my married kids to enjoy a night out. My husband and I live a long ways from Austin so it is an 'occasion' when we go into the city to eat. The Roaring Fork always delivered a very nice dining experience until last night. I ordered the crab cake as an appetizer and it was excellent and you can never go wrong with a Caesar salad. My husband's entre was the 1/2 chicken and a side of creamed spinach. I ordered the blackened reddish over couscous/lentils. My husband complained the side of spinach was so salty, and it WAS! Over the top on salt. Folks watching sodium content should avoid this dish. He thought the chicken was good but the dressing too sweet. And it WAS! But some folks like it like that. I get it. My blackened reddish, however, was dead on arrival. The fish was waaay overcooked and dry. It was not good. We'll eat at Eddie V's next time we come to town for an occasion and spend $180. I'll pay more for a better dish.

Our Amazing dining experience started at the host stand where we were greeted with enthusiasm and Austin Texas charm, then extended throughout the evening as we were taken care of by a friendly, professional team who understood the right level of attention to keep the table happy. Great food, generous portions, and a bartender who served up some top-notch powerful cocktails. The Roaring Fork has found the right recipe… menu, drinks, staff, atmosphere…an evening to remember!

I was in town for business and was hoping to get to a downtown restaurant but a large dinner was organized at Roaring Fork. Either my mind set on downtown I was a little bummed but this turned out to be a pretty good meal. Now there are a lot of places downtown that I would prefer but this was better than I expected. We shared a bunch of starters since there was 10-12 of us at the diner and most things were pretty good which included the queso, green chili pork, guacamole, and focaccia. I had the NY strip and Brussel sprouts. The steak was good, maybe a bit too much fat on the outer portions of the steak so there was trimming I had to do. The sprouts were on the sweeter side. I had a couple glasses of wine and did enjoy the meal overall.

The Service here is awful and the staff is rude!!! It took 15 min to get water and Menus then they ignored our group of 3 for another 15 min. Half an hour and they didn’t even take our order. When we complained, the manager came and her response was “well we don’t have to serve you” then told us to leave. Humiliated us in front mid my Dad visiting. Avoid this overpriced tourist trap at all costs!!

My family was celebrating three birthdays of three generations so we had quite a group. Jess was our waitress and she was fantastic. We sat by the windows and were exceptionally well from the moment we arrived. The food was phenomenal. We have a Celiac allergy in the family and the staff and chef were very accommodating. It was an overall great experience that I felt compared to share. No free desserts but maybe next time - I highly recommend.

First time here. Had a drink in the bar area where we were clearly the only non-locals. Great selection of Bourbons. Dinner area has some awesome U shaped booths over looking the lake. Service was nice. Drinks were good, steaks were good except (just be warned) there is a SMOKE flavor that they add. Its a bit off putting but did not ruin the steak. Sides and apps were tasty. I'd go back.

Best tortilla soup that I have ever tasted at a restaurant. It's full of tender chicken, avacado, cheese , tortillas and semi spicy broth🙆‍♀️ The chicken Waldorf Salad was horrible. Just a bunch of spinach, topped with boiled, bland chicken breast on the side. A few grapes. No walnuts Not anything I would have expected given the quantities of other entrees. Green chilies pork dip was perfect! Grilling salmon had a wonderful sauce 😁

The restaurant is next to a pond with water-front views. Food was well prepared and tasty. My cedar plank salmon had the cedar plank salmon had the slightly smoky flavor that you would expect. They have a vibrant happy hour scene, but with a friendly and respectful atmosphere. It seemed populated by business people and families, all clearly enjoying their visit as much as my family.

My wife and I are super fond of this place. It has a great atmosphere for large or small gatherings and the staff is super-attentive. They know their stuff, the specials are always appealing and the food is top-notch. The off-menu items are always innovative and delish. It's great for special occasions and/or just a casual night out to get a good bite and have a drink. When the weather is nice, sit outside by the lake and enjoy the view and the vibe.

Very good choice for Birthday dinner. In general service was very good. Food was outstanding and really good value. The filet is a must in this place. Hope i can come back soon to taste more dishes here. The restaurant is very beautiful too. One thin that i might not liked it is the fact that it was a birthday dinner and they charged me the dessert, but other than that experience was in general very well.
