Matt's is the best place for family, drinks and food. Whether you're looking for happy hour or a large family gathering, the staff is ready to serve and are always so friendly and helpful. Also, they have great chorizo!!

Very good Mexican food. Love the excellent queso. The best part, you never have to wait for a table, the place is so huge. If you never been, you should add this restaurant to your list of places to try.

We had one day with Austin friends and this is were they took us for lunch. No wait for sitting outside by the garden. The fresh squeezed limeade was yummy. The Asadero Tacos was recommend by our friends. It was very different with the melted cheese a homemade corn tortillas. Very large portions. A bit pricey with cheese dip, alcoholic... More

I've been going to Matt's for 50 years. I've never had a bad experience there and the food is excellent. Their pralines are the best ever!

Matts is an Austin standard for Tex-Mex. If you want to have the most unique menu item and a delicious chile relleno, then try the one at Matts. My favorite is the one with ground beef top with green sauce. And then they all come topped with pecans raisins and sour cream. They are the best! Matts deserves more stars!

I have been going to Matt's El Rancho since the early Eighties. Both at the original location in downtown and the newer spot on Lamar. The location may have changed, but the quality is the same. The best Margaritas, and really good traditional Mexican dishes, not just Tex Mex! Very good salsa and Chips. The Enchiladas are among the best.... More

Matt's is our family's go-to place for weekend evenings; we are there several times a month. We love relaxing on the patio with perfectly mixed margaritas and visiting with family friends who also flock to Matt's for the same reasons. You'll see some tourists and even an occasional celebrity dining at Matt's, but for the most part, this is a... More

Matt's is a favorite of mine and is usually the family's night out go to! Chile Relleno is amazing, stuffed zucchini, Bob Armstrong, Texas Fries, Monster chicken fried steak... the list goes on. Never a disappointment!

Chicken Fried Steak at el Rancho. That's one of our favorites! Have you had it on the weekend brunch menu with eggs and Mexican hash browns? Now that's amazing! Thanks for the awesome review, Paul More

Too many taste buds and palates are already trained to like Tex-Mex so stepping into the authentic Mexican meal can be a shocker but something easily acquired. Bob's Bowl as an appetizer is SPOT-ON, melted queso w/guacamole and seasoned beef - perfect for the large thick chips and heavier salsa. plenty to choose from on the menu from beef and... More
