One of my favorite restaurants for many years! Excellent margaritas and such a variety of Tex-Mex food. My favorites are the fried avocado and Montego Bay shrimp tacos. This restaurant is located near downtown and on the banks of Lake Austin. Part of the outdoor area is a dock over the lake. Always cool for the kids to feed ducks... More

Had to try this Austin staple on our recent trip and although it was difficult to really tell anything about the facilities and the view of the lake due to the crowd, the food was excellent. We tried this place on a Sunday afternoon around 5pm thinking that we could beat the dinner crowd. No such luck. Large crowd waiting... More

Hula was highly recommended as a place we had to try. Decor is fun Polynesian and lots of seating outside on the river. Food is an eclectic mix of Tex-Mex and Polynesian. Pu-Pu platter was good as appetizers. My salmon with pico was just ok. The Tex Mex dishes that the rest of my group got were just ok. Service... More

Went with work people. Service was good but food was just ok. Barely warm beans and rice and three shrimps in a taco.

Fun and beautiful location. I loved the atmosphere. They were packed on a friday night and we waited about an hour and a half for a table, but in their defense they did have free chips and salsa both of which were delicious complimentary and a waiting area to relax in.. that was also pretty busy. The food was good... More

The wait is super long. So I sat at the bar. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and jack cheese. Super good. It was busy when we came but I enjoyed.

This was the cutest restaurant. We're from California and here to visit family. We were on a boat for the day on Lake Austin and got to pull right up to the restaurant on our boat. So cool! It's a big place. The food is fabulous! The shrimp tacos are to die for. The coconut shrimp Is delicious too!!! Yum!... More

Went here for luncch on a Friday afternoon; ate inside as the wait was 40 minutes for an outside table! Enjoyed the salad, fish tacos and veggie enchiladas. Kind of a shabby beach shack atmosphere. The place is an institution and you need to check it out if you are in Austin.

I ask could I get olives and olive juice she left and came back with a cup a quarter full of olive juice still no olives! We then ordered their Fish bowl... More
