Went to the nail shop next door and noticed a FULL parking lot, all the folks heading to Trudy's. I thought, let's try this place...OMG...totally AWESOME and DELICIOUS! I mean the menu has everything Mexican and it tastes so authentic! I was in Austin for a week and ate there 3 times!!

Good pastor tacos and Mexican Martinis. Overall this is a nice place with good food for family or business.

The food & margaritas are really good. The outdoor patio area was small & intimate. The interior of the restaurant wasn't very inviting imo.

I've lived in Austin a while and Trudy's is still the place I love bringing Austin visitors. The food is great and the drinks are good. I'm an enchilada fan but starting with the favorites section on the menu will never steer you wrong. My relative thinks Trudy's stuffed avocados are one of the best things she's ever eaten. They're... More

Trudys has been around a long time. The food is pretty good, nothing amazing, but good stuffed avacado and a great Mexican martini! They also have several flavors of margaritas, like coconut, mango, sangria and others. You won't be disappointed but you probably won't write home about it either. Parking is terrible at the Burnet road location but other than... More

Tremendously disappointing experience on a Saturday night at Trudy's North Star. I've been visiting Austin for over two decades off and on, and have never, ever seen such a combination of mediocre food and inattentive service. It started with our call to make a reservation on what we anticipated to be a busy night at Trudy's, what with the UT... More

Went to Trudy's on Sunday when they had their brunch buffet. It was fairly extensive. It has a lot of your usual Tex mex fare, but the stand out was the fried stuffed avocados, fish tacos, and endless bacon. Three of us enjoyed our food but one of us had issues with the food sitting well with him.

Too many better places for Tex Mex in Austin. Casa Chapala ( on diagonal corner of same intersection ) has better food and drinks ( and service). Trudy's always smells musty and is always so dimly lit that you wonder what you're not supposed to see. Drinks (margaritas & Mexican martinis) used to be really good, but seem very inconsistent...
