This is a quick simple lunch place. Service is fast. Nothing fancy and decent food. Prices are reasonable also.

Went to this cafe thinking it would be a great place for lunch, with sandwiches and the like. my husband's hamburger was cold as was my fish sandwich. We asked for the fries to be cooked extra crispy, but what we got was soggy limp ones instead. I do give credit for a very tasty wheat bun. It was on... More

If you want some amazing food but poor service, this is your place! We've actually had a couple people wait on us that were super nice but overall the staff that communicates with the customers seem sad to be there. With that said this place is worth eating at whether you're dining in or taking out. The portions are HUGE... More

We were at UT for a band competition. Looking for a place for lunch, we checked Trip Advisor and settled on the Red River Café. It is a quaint place and it has a pretty good menu, especially if you like breakfast, which is served all day. We ordered the hamburgers and though I would claim they are the best... More

Had really nice beef brisket and sandwiches on the back terrace. They have live music in the evenings.

I liked the coffee at this cafe so much the last time I visited Austin that I made a special trip there to enjoy the coffee again. Alas! The coffee was not the same, and in fact, was not good at all. I was told it is just Folgers now and it tasted like it had sat in the pot... More

Not the place we use to like in the years fast. We waited 35 mins for breakfast when there was only 3 other tables of 2-3 people. Food was ok but for the same price you can get a butter breakfast somewhere ales. Nice server but slow to replenish coffee and water on a not busy day. Too bad the... More

Stopped by Red River Café before an 11:00 kick off. Great prices. Great portions....not too large! I had the migas which were PERFECT. Crisp veggies, nice salsa, eggs cooked to perfection. Hubby had the cheese omelet. Solid cup of coffee. Service was perfect. Small place but we hit it just right with no wait at all. I will be back!

Small, casual local café with home-cooked style breakfast on weekend. Close to UT campus. Free Wi-Fi and newspapers. Friendly service. Good coffee. Probably the best pancakes I can remember having.

This cafe has been around for 40 or 50 years! The prices are great and the ladies who wait on customers are sweet. The gentleman in the kitchen listens to his eclectic music and delivers delicious breakfasts ! I am so glad I decided to try them out. Their buttermilk pancakes are cooked just right and have a great flavor.... More
