Our party of 6 ate here and was seated immediately. Most of us ordered subs and I ordered the pastrami sub. It was good but lacked meat. The pastrami was so thin on the bread that it was dried out on the sub. It was...still good but I will order a different sandwich next time. Everyone was pleased with their meals which included pizza & subs.More

Went here with my family after going to Virginia Highlands. The food was great. The owner went around talking to everyone and was a lot of fun to talk to. We ate on the patio which was a little chilly, but was nice.

I'm from Calif and was visiting my daughter in VA. We went to Mamma Mia with her and her 2 sisters. The garlic knots were amazing and the food great. Owner came out and service was amazing.

We had planned on going elsewhere but it was closed on Tuesday night so our hotel recommended Mamma Mia plus the TA reviews convinced us to try it. The garlic knots are unbelievably good. There are 6 and they have cheese inside. Honestly I could...have made a meal off this. I had the lasagna which was so good with lots of homemade marina sauce and not too much noodles which was great since I was already full from the garlic knots. My husband had the small Stromboli and we brought some home. The restaurant is small and it was raining so couldn’t try outside. If I lived nearby, I would be regularly getting food there either eat in or to go. They do not serve alcohol but do not let that influence you. Get it to go if needed but don’t miss out! The gentleman who runs the place is very appreciative of his customers and sincerely thanks you. He loves to talk with the customers! This would be a great place to grab lunch also.More

Great food in a nice atmosphere. The owner is very friendly and the staff provided good service even though they were short staffed. Their attention to detail on providing a safe environment during Covid was the best I have seen. The garlic knots are the...best I have ever had. They were not the usual dough covered with butter and garlic - instead they had cheese in the center and had light butter with the garlic/herbs. If any item could be improved it would be their salads and they were good. The first night we had pizza which had great crust and fresh ingredients. The second we both had pasta dishes which came with salads and bread. They gave us a 10% discount because we came back the second night.More

We had lunch there after riding our bikes along the Va. Creeper trail. The food was delicious (especially the garlic cheese knots) and our waitress, Angelina, was very personable and provided fantastic service. The owner came out and spoke with us while we were there....They take obvious pride in their restaurant and staffMore

Stopped in for a pizza for dinner during the week. Interior seating is very appropriate for COVID-19 conditions. Good spacing and partitions. Felt very comfortable eating here. Our waitress immediately suggested the garlic knots. So glad she did! These were absolutely delicious. There are 6...in an order and we ate all but one, trying to leave room for the delicious pizza. We had 1 knot & 3 slices of pizza leftover, all of which reheated very nicely in the toaster oven the next day. Do not eat here without ordering the garlic knots!! You won't regret it.More

The owner has gone beyond recommended precautions to ensure safety of his customers during Covid. You are greeted at the door by a written statement thanking you for your patronage. Not only does every table have a sanitizer but partitions are placed between all tables....The owner thanks all customers before they leave. Menu is not extensive; no sausage or veal but it meets needs for Standard Italian fare. If you are traveling and are concerned about eating out, feel comfortable eating outside or inside. Safety precautions and attitude of employees make Momma Mia a winner.More

My husband and I were in the area for an adventure on the Virginia Creeper Trail and were looking for a takeout dinner option last night. We are still being cautious about dining in restaurants because of COVID-19, and our hotel recommended we try Mama...Mia. My husband enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich with fries, and I had the steak & cheese the works sandwich with onion rings. We both opted for small sandwiches instead of the large, and both were very yummy and more than enough food. I thought the onion rings were a little pricey at $3.99 for a small serving, but they were good. I could not find a menu online so I have included a picture. We would definitely like to try other menu items if we are in the area again.More
