Food and service were both great. If we go back to the area we would definitely go again. Everything was great but two particular favorites were the fried green tomato appetizer and the key lime pie.

We made a reservation for dinner after a couple of other restaurants were booked up. Not sure what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised by such a wonderful dinner. I had the butternut soup which was delicious. The NY strip with chili plum sauce was...amazing. The restaurant is nice and the service was great. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.More

A casual place. We were seated without reservations and were served by a friendly staff. I had the smash burger and fries, large portions and very good. A nice place to visit

The Rain is overpriced. Hubby got rib eye steak which was good but I got the salmon cakes which were 90% bread stuffing and 10% crab. The mushroom potatoe soup was delicious! And the homemade bread was delicious! The sides of fried spinach and asparagus...was average at best. I probably will not go back to this restaurant.More

The motel's front desk staff told me Rain was the best place in town for dinner. I'm thankful for his recommendation. I began with the squash soup, garnished with crushed peanuts, cilantro, and spices. It was so good. My main course of amberjack with andouille...sausage, fried okra, and rice was perfectly done and absolutely delicious. My only regret is that I was so full I couldn't sample one of the desserts. This fantastic dinner was delivered by charming, friendly, knowledgeable servers. If I lived in Abingdon, I'd certainly be a regular.More

The food is prepared perfectly. The salmon and crab cakes are delicious. During the corona virus issues, we get our food to go. Its fresh and packed nicely. We just sit down and have our wonderful Rain Restaurant meal at home on our patio!!! And...John the bartender is a great asset! He is always so helpful and friendly.More

Very large serving or well prepared catfish was delicious, as were the sides. The sushi inspired yellow fin tuna with wasabi sauce and rice with drizzled soy sauce were also excellent. Likewise, the banana flambe cheese cake was over the top delicious. So good that...we immediately made reservations for the following night. Servers were well trained and accomodating, offering wine samples before a final selection. Covid sanitation practices were disappointing. We observed the turn of the neighboring table. The hostess collected food scrapes by hand, along with used utensils and instructed a second hostess to seat the next customers without a basic wipe down of the table.More

After reading TripAdvisor reviews we had dinner at Rain last night - it was fantastic. We sat outside on the patio and the restaurant was taking COVID precautions and all staff wore masks. Our server, John, was excellent - very attentive and great service. The...ceviche app was delicious - very fresh and excellent. Our dinners were also great and the tuna was perfectly cooked. The double smash burger was excellent too It was a wonderful evening - great service - wonderful food Thank you!More

Rain is one of my very favorite restaurants in Abingdon. We try to eat here during every visit if they are open. The atmosphere is awesome and the food delicious! We enjoy sitting outdoors in the Spring, Summer and Fall!

I don’t remember seeing a children’s menu, but a quick call should be able to clear up any doubt. My apologies for not remembering.

If you're going during the pre-show (at the Barter) time on a Friday or Saturday night, then you should make a reservation. otherwise, you should be OK.
