Smelled something yummy when I came out of a store, crossed the street and went to the Peppermill for lunch. First, get Campbells soup out of your head, because the curried mushroom soup here is fabulous, trust me! I had the oriental salad with chicken, the Thai-ish peanut dressing was well seasoned and delicious. I had the creme brûlée for... More

My wife and I visited for a late (1:45 p'm.) lunch. We ordered their herb crusted salmon. The food was very good. However, even though there were only a few customers, our server was inattentive and repeatedly disappeared for long period. Drinks were empty for way too long, repeatedly. No rolls were offered and we had to ask. When we... More

We came for dinner and were delighted. The decor and ambience are perfect for family or couples. The menu is small but has great variety. You cannot go wrong at The Peppermill!

Had a very good dinner at the Peppermill. Service was spotty but meal was good and atmosphere was nice in an old house.

My husband, daughter and I ate here a few days ago. The food was delicious, well-prepared and presented. The service was great too. The Peppermill is in a home and we enjoyed the setting very much. I would recommend this restaurant and look forward to eating there again.

What a find, at least for us. Nice old house setting, an extensive menu, good wine list, professional staff. What's not to like? My wife started out with their tomato soup and pronounced it wonderful. She was threatening to eat both but bowls of soup and their rolls, I had French Onion soup with bleu cheese crumbles. I would have... More

Unplanned dinner out that was delightfully yummy. Seating in a room with several other tables provided enough privacy for conversation. Waiter was attentive enough, made suggestions when asked and brought us great food.

I stayed in Abington, VA for a week on business The Peppermill had the best meal I had during that visit. The Chicken Marsalis was awesome. I was full but I didn't want it to go to waste. Great service

Located in an old home in the heart of downtown Abingdon. We were greeted and seated fairly promptly. Quick drink order request from the waiter and disappeared before we could ask about a gluten free menu. Drinks came back, promptly served and disappeared. Finally ready to order, asked about a gluten free menu. Better choices than would have been though... More

Large portions, fairly predictable American menu, well prepared. Crayfish appetizer. Great steak, Southwest pork tenderloin. In a beautiful Victorian house.
