We were looking for a place to dine and happened to walk by this place. Not knowingly we ventured into an unknown experience. In a few short words: Food was fantastic and the service superb. So glad we decided to “take a chance”! We highly...recommend it. Very nice atmosphere and all surrounding details are perfect. The menu is quite extense. So by all means…Eyes closed! Perhaps the best Greek food I have had in the US. Outstanding service, really exceptional. The food was wonderful, and the retsina was very fine. My two companions raved about the restaurant, and I felt the same way. For we of a certain age, the...sound level was very comfortable even though the resto was quite full. Parking is always an issue in Old Town Alexandria, not the fault of Yayla Bistro. I don't remember whether valet parking was available. Again, the service was extremely professional and basically perfect.More

I am Turkish and I have the great fortune to live only a mile away from Yayla. I go all the time. The food is excellent, The parking is excellent. The service is excellent. Every once in a while I try other Turkish restaurants in...the area. They pale in comparison. I don't know why I go anywhere else. My go to dish is the Adana Kebab. I would also recommend the lahmacun. The shepherd salad is delicious. Everything is seasoned perfectly. Even if you are not as close as I am, this place is worth the drive.More

Our first visit here, and we really liked the menu and the service. Our server, Mary, was a delight and was helpful without being pushy. The food was mostly great, and the desserts were even better! The halloumi appetizer was memorable but avoid the calamari....It should be accurately described as squid chewing gum! Also note that the appetizer serving size is very small.More

First time visit. Very elegant atmosphere, and a wide-ranging and delicious - looking menu. For the food and atmosphere, very reasonable proces. Service is exceptional. Servings are not US-size, so perfect for a meal. Highly recommended.

My wife and I came here after reading all the great reviews. Yes, they are correct. We had the mezzanine plate for two. The chefs cigars were the highlight. Then we split entrees of Minte (spelling) and the spinach pie. As one might guess the...Minte tastes minty. It was delicious and I recommend it but it was a surprise! Service was wonderful.More

This was one of the few restaurants opened for Thanksgiving dinner until 8 pm. Its a lovely restaurant with a simple decor. The service is excellent. The drinks are on pricey end. We started with cocktails and international beers. Flower box was delicious with prosseco...and elderflower liquer. My husband enjoyed a greek beer. We started with a choice of mezze cacki yogurt based delicious dip, baba ganoush an eggplant dip. It comes with warm bread and spicy chili pepper sauce. We needed the red lentil soup, warmed our bodies on this cold day. We loved the mujerc, zuchinni patties. The lamb chops were absolutely delicious and very well marinated. The chicken wrap was one of the best we ever had. Definitely save space for superb array of dessert. Pistachio icecream with chocolate and layered hazelnut cake, absolutely decadent. We enjoyed our experience.More

We enjoyed this Turkish restaurant a year ago and when we were passing through, and we went out of our way to go there again. We started with well made cocktails and due to the late hour, we sampled the various appetizers, all of which...were unknown to us except one that I had as a main course last year. Since it was Monday night, all wines were half priced and we selected a Spanish Malbec that was very good. We were able to add to and delete from the standard appetizer sampler and they were all very good and new to us.More

closest parking is curbside so availability depends a great deal on the time of day you plan to dine. we were there mid afternoon - after lunch but before dinner and easily found parking space.
