Very kind and helfull staff. Food is delicious, especially fish dishes, with affordable prices and large portions. Special thanks to our waitress who was so kind and fun, and after the meal she brought us shots of domestic drink rakija. I would recommend this place to everyone.

We are staying in Saranda for 2 weeks, working remotely away from our home in Tirana. My husband had wanted to try this place all summer and I was only interested in fish or seafood. What a surprise to discover an amazing Greek restaurant serving freshly cooked lamb on a spit along with fries, a great Greek salad, and the best homemade tzatziki sauce we ever ate! Generous glasses of homemade red wine! Then gratis we finished with a thick yogurt dessert topped with

Taverna Liberia is truly a special place to eat in Saranda, with excellent food and super friendly service! This restaurant is a bit off the main tourist path while still in a great location easy to walk to from the central part of town. It is run by a very nice family who speaks English well and made us feel welcome. The food tasted very fresh and was a great value with large portions, no worries if you can't finish all of it, because they provide take away boxes for leftovers. They even gave us some delicious dessert which was light and tasty! Also we had local red wine with our meal which was very good too. We would recommend this restaurant to all and hopefully we can return one day!

The food wasn't good and the place feels raist. The service was slow and we have been treated differently to the locals. A few more tables arrive after us got served before us and their food comes much quicker than ours. Perhaps sensing we were waiting quite a while after 25 mins we were told the prawns take longer and they wanted to bring all the food out for us at once. Like a joke, 5 mins after that, the prawn I ordered arrived but the chicken my husband ordered which is on the fast food menu was still not there...
The biggest joke is, on the menu the prawn shows as 400g a portion but I have 12 prawns which is certainly no more than 200g. What a rip off.... The food itself isn't nice either. Chicken too salty, prawn over cooked. Another woman next to us pretty much left her whole plate. Definitely don't recommend this place. By the way, many things are not available because it is out of season, including the beer on the tap... Honestly don't go there 😐

The food was simply amazing and the whole staff very friendly and kind. They make sure you have a perfect evening with delicious local food for a very good price. Went there two times out of three days because we enjoyed it so much. Would definitely recommend it! 10 out of 10!

A menu placard and an available parking place in the heavy- traffic downtown of Sarande course made this taverna our lunch stop today. As mentioned in other reviews, servings are huge and delicious! We ordered pork shishkebabs with fries, tzatziki with bread, and saganaki mussels. What was served was pork cut from a slab of meat, skewered onto 3 sticks and grilled along with a mountain of fries and a salad, a huge basket of toasted and oiled bread to dip in the freshly prepared tzatziki, and a hot casserole dish full of mussels without shells in a red sauce with finely grated cheese on top. The owners were fun and helpful and eager to fill us up with great food. When we tried to pay, they brought us a fresh-cut fruit plate and two shots of raki. We drove away fat and happy!

I heard this place has a lamb on the spit so went in. I ended up ordering lamb and a greek salad. I asked how much lamb is on the plate and he said standard serving of 400g so I said can I have more so he said 600g. What was ordered was a standard looking serving of mainly bones. Hardly any meat. The salad looked amazing but it was a fine skin of onions and olives etc and underneath basically a bowel of tomato skins. All of it tasted OK of course but when I went to pay the charged 2200 Lek which is insanely expensive. This is what you get if you walk in alone and they assume you are a tourist which I am not. Look at the photo of the plate of bones. The skin was so chewy it couldn't be eaten and there was very little meat below that skin just bones. Go down to the "meat house" at the other end of Sarande beach where you get a mixed grill of 1Kg of all kinds of meat for under half the price. It is hard to finish that one but I felt hungry still after eating here.

I and my family loved everything about our experience here. We ate here several times while in Saranda. The owners are very hospitable. They are always making sure you are enjoying your time. The dishes are delicious, big and generous portions, and the prices are very reasonable. If you want to enjoy an authentic Albanian meal and the one and only Albanian hospitality, you must definitely come here. One of the best restaurant in Saranda!

This restaurant is truly amazing. The quality of food is great and the amount you get for the price it costs is even better. The service was so lovely it felt like you were surrounded by family. It was really busy also even in the quieter month of April which is a really good sign. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone who comes to saranda

We loved the baked cheese, the pork belly was astoundingly good. They make their own Tatzike sauce and serve Albanian mineral water. Such a nice experience. The owner's daughter was our waitress and she was awesome! Great service!!

This place is must visit in Saranda! We have arrived few hours ago to Saranda so hungry😋! This place was one of the few we were thinking about . And I was so glad we went there to have dinner! We had country salad ( it’s a Greek salad just with no cheese), fried sardines ( very tasty🤤🤤🤤), shelled Mussels( super fresh with lemon, parsley and blanched tomatoes ) and chicken shesh kebab( which came with a french fries and tzatziki as a side dish ).
Maybe it’s a small thing but I really liked how thin onion was sliced for a salad☺️🧡 Portion of salad was huge btw💕😅
We also had 0,5 white wine( I believe it was semidry one). Wine was wonderful!
I also want to notice a perfect service !
Manager and Servers were very friendly and did their job perfectly. The also had very good English, what is not common for Albania. Also during our dinner manager ( I actually think this girl ( or her family) own this place ) came to us and asked - “How is everything ? How is food? “
It was second time in Albania we got asked about how is everything - and it’s very professional 🥳
And after a dinner we also got raki on a house 🥰❤️🔥
We are Definitely going back there !

The place was very intereting. We were welcomed with fresh Albanian food. The saganaki and xaxiq were delicious. Host was speaking English, he took care of us and after the meal we were proposed to drink homemade rakija for free. Totally recomend!

Everyone must go to Taverna Laberia in Sarandë! It’s a nice walk away from the town center near the water. It is a local mom and pop, traditional Albanian restaurant that is a welcomed change amongst the hundreds of Italian branded restaurants. Don’t get me wrong, I love seafood, but I had been craving something different; something Albanian. The staff makes you feel at home right away. Our waitress was 17, spoke perfect English, and had such a lovely, amusing personality-we low key invited her to join us! We ordered the Greek salad, Open Suvlaki, and Pork Pancetta with fries. The portions are huge, so we took a decent amount home, but we wanted to try it all. Afterward, they gave us traditional Rajki to drink (from the grandparents’ house), and a lovely, light dessert to balance it out. We wanted to stay all night chatting with the staff, and we are leaving simply raving about the place! Best food we have had! We have been to Durres, Vlorë, and Sarandë, to several fancy hotels, to many road side restaurants and all in between. This restaurant beats them all.

The worst experience we had in Sarandë! Food was terribly overcooked and dry. They said the chicken kebab comes with sauce and it had none. I ordered lamb liver that costs 600 lek but was charged 800 and it was mostly kidneys. Thank god for that, because I fed the liver to the cat. Also, I received half a lung. Also, we got overchaghed for drinks, a double uzo means 4 portions. The waitresses forgot the water and the vinegar I asked for. It is also NOT A CHEAP MEAL! More expensive and worse than any!

Firstly I would like to thank you for choosing our place to eat we are terribly sorry for your bad experience. This happens rarely in our restaurant.
The fried lamb liver costs 600 lek you were charged 800 because it was grilled , the waitress told us you asked for it this way ( she told us you wanted it cooked well) for the ouzo we did take it off the bill, like you said there was one double instead of two. We wrote two in the bill because that’s what the waitress told us for your drinks
We will try and fix our “mess”
Again terribly sorry from our side
- The owners

Great place to eat in Himare. We have tried the tzatziki, slouvaki and shih kebab - it was simple, excellent and well-made.
Staff is family members and they're all very kind and welcoming, also giving a great service when you're eating.
Serving sizes are quite important - so be hungry when you're coming. Cheap prices for what you can get with great quality food.
Thanks again Taverna Laberian, I'll recommend your place and be coming back for my next time in the city.
Cheers!
