Best restaurant on Isla del sol, food was very fresh prepared (which takes a while) but it's def worth it. Nice atmosphere and perfect for sunset. Give it a try!

Travelling through South America can have complications... And on this day, we had experienced a few! Arriving finally to the Isla del Sol, climbing the seemingly endless way up to Las Velas was the last thing I wanted to do, and the best thing we could have done. Amazing sunset, amazing food, and then after dark.... amazing stars. Oh! And... More

Obviously this place has amazing reviews and was recommended on multiple blogs, so we gave it a try. The bottom line was, food was good (my boyfriend loved the baked trout and thought it was best he has had on the trip), but you might wanna give a thought on everything else. Firstly, this place is called "las velas" or... More

We spent an evening in Isla del Sol and luckily someone had recommended Las Velas in a blog. All 3 of us ordered the trout in white wine sauce, with quinoa and veggies, with a bottle of Bolivian white wine. The food was incredible and fresh. The service was great. Everything was made to order, so it took a while,... More

We dined in the restaurant after vieweing the amazing sunset. The chef was very friendly and prepared all the meals by himself with a headlight on gas stoves. The fact that there was no power in the building let to a warm atmosphere and we enjoyed trout and a pizza on our candlelight dinner. We spend our time waiting for... More

My wife and I ate here for lunch last Friday (11/25), and it was very worth following the signs from Yumani to reach this somewhat hidden spot! Las Velas has a few tables indoors, but we were the only guests and opted for the lone table outside--essentially a wooden bench with a few log stools around it. So we were... More

Lovely place with good food. As I am Italian I wouldn't take the pizza again, base wasn't too good but eatable. Trout was very tasty! Menu between 50-70 bolivianos, drinks a bit expensive. Owners are a very friendly couple. Bring a light to make your way between the trees!

We had read about this place before getting to Isla del Sol and after finding accommodation in the southern part of the island (top of the hill) we realized we were actually close to Las Velas. After a few days in Lake Titicaca eating trout and rice listening to cumbia and reggaeton in the background we had our expectations quite... More

Las velas is a unique restaurant lost in the forest of southern isla del sol. Is not easy to get there, but if you hit the place you will enjoy the natural organic food as well as the extraordinary place. With no electricity at all (the name "the candels" may suggest it) have a dinner/lunch there is like been in... More
