Very bad! Wine list imcomplete and more than 50 minutes to be served. Not recomended. You can find best alternatives at the Quadrado in Trancoso

Lots of local style fish stews, shell fish dishes. The breaded crab and cervice were fine and the huge prawn stews enough for 2 . Reasonable wine and cocktail lists. Nice ambience but it's a really large place and needs to be full to get any atmosphere going, and it was packed by 1030 so reserve ahead if you want... More

Had dinner here while staying in Trancoso one night. Great little restaurant on the quadrado with excellent ambience and a really chill vibe. They have an English menu which made communication easier. Based on other reviews we tried two different appetizers, the acaraje and the crab in a shell. Neither was impressive. However, the moqueca (seafood stew) was really awesome... More

Had a lovely brazilian dish called escondidinho and have been dreaming about it ever since. My starter was also gorgeous with aubergine courgette and brazilian coalho cheese. My friends had prawns. Excellent food.

Nice restaurant, good atmosphere, food is delicious (specially the seafood "moqueca" and the escondinho de carne seca). Specially good "mandarine caipirinha"

Excelent Food, Wine and Caipirinhas, in a Trancoso Atmosphere with gentle waiters and the Sympathy of The Owners, Mrs Dora and Mrs Fatima, that make The Difference! Highlights are "Coquinho", acarajé and Lobster Strogonoff!!! Really Recommend!!!!

It's difficult to find value for money in Trancoso and Cacau is not an exception; good environment and pretty decent food without being anything exciting. My prawn main featured exactly five small prawns (at 80 reais cost). The badejo "tropical" with pineapple chutney was def a better option. No wine by the glass and staff, if correct, was on lo-fi... Went with my wife, son and daughter-in--law. Food and service was good in pleasant surroundings.Problem was paying. I have my AMEX card since 1971 (44 years!!). The server alleged that the transaction had been refused and I asked her to retry and, once again, she insisted that the payment had been refused. I then used my Visa card. On returning... More

This is supposedly the best restaurant in Trancoso, according to the guidebooks. The meal was fine--the fish was expertly cooked, not overcooked like most Brazilian restaurants, but the wasabi sauce was a bit bland. It was certainly our best meal in Trancoso, but frankly, that's not saying much. The service staff was pleasant and actually seemed to enjoy working there,... More
