Our local guide recommended this place to my spouse and me for dinner as a place where the locals eat. It was only two streets over from our pousada. Since we prefer this type of establishment to the typical tourist places that serve Western food,...we decided to give it a try. However, on our first night, when we read the menu, we thought it very expensive. Then the following day, our guide informed us that most the dinners were priced for two persons, not one! That made a definite difference!! So on our second night in Paraty, we dined here. My husband and I tend to eat early as do most people from the Midwestern US. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time, and we began to worry that we had made a wrong choice. But the place soon filled. Our guide also suggested that we try Fish with Bananas, for which the city is famous, and that we try it at several restaurants to compare the ways in which it is prepared. As such, we ordered one of the special meals for two: Caicara Fish cooked with banana and manioc cream, and served with rice for 69BRL ($17.00). The manioc cream was a type of stew made with manioc, fish and tomato sauce, which was very good, and eaten on top of the rice. The fish was baked, and served in a sauce with cut tomatoes, onions and bananas. The bananas were sweet and fantastic. We pared the meal with a glass of red wine for me, a large beer for him. With the service charge, the meal came to 104.50 BRL, (about $26.00), which was very reasonable. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal.More

The staff is very nice and friendly and the food is excellent! I recommend the Bobó de Camarão, very tasty and the price is perfect.

Our hotel recommended this place and we should have noticed that the restaurant was empty and walked away. The food was not good. We ordered a steak and it was so chewy that my kids refused to eat after struggling with the first bite. There...are much better places to eat in Paraty,More

The restaurant is simple, good and with fair prices. There is a menu for 2 with usual plates for a replay good price, around 50 reais for both. And it comes with a lot of food! I recommend!

Not all restaurants are open on Mondays, this one was recommended but we found the food very ordinary and not really good. Staff was nice.

We liked this restaurant so much we went two nights running! We had SUCH a great waiter, so helpful. I am embarrassed that we don't know his name! He is very tall, speaks excellent English, and has lived in US and Portugal. He is an...asset to the company! He advised us in choices of food , and of wines too. Everything we had was delicious, generous portions, full of flavour. Would definitely recommend if you are in Paraty, and good luck to our lovely waiter in your future! xMore

This is our favorite restaurant in Paraty since 1990 and we dine here at least once a year. The menu is the same during all these years and we usually have moqueca or steak Vinicius Moraes. The portions are big, sufficient for 2-3 persons. It...used to be possible to cut the meat (file mignonette) with two spoons, but last time the meat was tough and even difficult to cut with a knife. The taste of the meal and service are still very good, so we will return anyway.More

Everywhere you ask, people will recommend you this restaurant. And there I went! Asked for a sea food board (as they call it), and was not disappointed. We ate it in 4 people (2 who eat few, 2 who eat well), and it was a...fair amount, every one got their share and was enough to satisfy. The fresh fruit juice and the beer came very cold, completely perfect for such warm summer day. The waiters were very attentive and prompt, and the food came in 15 minutes. Since it was not lunch rush hour, there were only 3 more tables. The options on the menu are vast, with focus on sea food, of course. Very tasty.More
