Besides being very challenging to find, this restaurant obviously capitalizes on its uniqueness (looks kind of like a tree house) and its view. But the food is so expensive, and you get so little for your money, that I don't recommend it for more than a drink at the end of a day of walking around Santa Teresa.

We were recommended this restaurant through a guidebook and through our hotel, and even watched some of the PR videos on their website. Overall, the food was very good -- there were a few interesting items (e.g. crab paws) that we hadn't had a chance to try before and were well prepared. However, one of the primary reasons we visited... More

My wife and I ate here one night last month while we were in Rio for a couple of days. We had a hard time finding a taxi that would take us ( from Copacabana Beach ). Apparently most of them don't want to fool around with the winding streets of Santa Theresa. Anyway, we had a very nice meal... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. Our hotellier remarked on it's outstanding views and when booking for us, insisted that they reserved a table with a good view. On arrival, we were warmly greeted by the staff and were impressed by the ambience of the restaurant. However, they apologised due to the fact that our table with a... More

What a pretty place, what a beautiful view, even on the rainy day I went for lunch here, with some very dear friends. After a couple of great and very creative caipirinhas, the plates with new readings for traditional Brazilian plates came: everything was good, but not up to the expectations built up by reviews and friends... But it is... More

If you're not already in Santa Theresa, it's quite and long and arduous trip to get here, being a little way out of town and up some step hills. We were greeted by quite a snotty receptionist who showed us to our table, with one seat facing the view of the city and the other with its back to it.... More

We arrived late in the afternoon on 2 Jan. The resturant was still busy and we were told the wait would be approx 30min. I asked if we could get a drink from the bar and wait on the terrace, the response was the bar is only open on weekends and we could wait on a bench (with ashtrays) at... More

Not worth the price tag for dinner. If you really want to go for the views (which are nice, we will admit), go grab drinks at their outdoor bar and head over to some other restaurant for your actual dinner. Service is inattentive, food is mediocre (and overpriced), and getting transportation from the restaurant is horrible. There simply is no... More

The place is simply unique with a great atmosphere and a spectacular view. The quality of food is good and all is well cooked (tha 'palmito' is a-must-have). One terrible point: wait up to 2 hours to eat is out of mind!

The food is average, simple yet good. The service is extremely slow. The chairs are wood. No cushions. Sat there for 4 hours for 4 services. We were a bit annoyed by the end. A bit overpriced, for the quantity and quality. The view is outstanding.

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
