Not a touristy restaurant. We ate there twice for dinner while staying in Santa Teresa (you should at least visit Santa Teresa when you're in Rio de Janeiro). It's a local place with local people, which is what we like when we travel. "Organized chaos"...More

This is a charming, historic bar/restaurant in SantaTereza. The owner is usually present sitting in front; chatting with locals and visitors. The waiters are attentive and friendly. The feijoada is one of the best in Rio, pure and simple. The serving for 3 (approx 80...More

We came here for what posters were billing as the "best feijoada" in town and thought it was pretty good. We happened to get lucky and snagged a table as soon as we arrived but noticed a large group of people waiting shortly after. The...More

Feijoada (black bean pork stew) is a traditional dish in Brazil. Bar do Mineiro has the best feijoada in all of Rio! You can pay more, but you won't get better. The serving for 2 feeds 3 male Americans with ease, all for under $20...More

Very typical restaurant in Santa Teresa, a neighborhood full of artists and with an amazing view of Rio de Janeiro. The food is good, taste really good, and you can 1 item for 2 people. The place is friendly, but it's not fancy. It worth...More

This looks like a basic place to eat but appearances are deceptive. The food is very good, big portions and very reasonable. Also, unlike anywhere else we ate in Rio they also sell wine quite cheaply by the glass. Recommended!

Specially for the "feijoada"... Its a rather tiny place, always crowded on weekends... Portions are huge, so you have to share... But I confess last time I went I was afraid of the dirty ... Even saw a little cocroach. Waiters are usually bad tempered,...More

Love the location of this place... was really excited about the price point, but found that it was not accurate and decided to dine elsewhere so can't describe the cuisine. We did sit inside and enjoyed a beverage. The service was excellent even though we...More

Portions are huge and value is great. Waiters are friendly and atmosphere is chill. Best day to go and get feijoada is a Sunday but every other day is fine as well !

From the outside appearance you don't expect much but the food is very tasty and good value for money. The food is your standard South American staples of stew / fish / chicken / rice / beans etc but its cooked well. Ordering was a...More

Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local
artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this
neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors
can now stroll through this area to view magnificent
mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th
century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a
former mansion turned museum which houses works by
prominent Brazilian modern artists.
