The Arena Hotel right in the center of Copacabana Beach represents as quite a nice option when staying in Rio, so why not try the in house Fennel restaurant? The publicity portrays a gourmet treat but maybe the lowly tripadvisor ranking says it all. The Fennel is not a gourmet heaven, if it is amongst Rio's best gourmet options, as... More

This restaurant was part of the hotel Arena Copacabana. The buffet breakfast was sensational, with lots of choice. Huge variety of tropical fruits. Bakery items were also extensive. However dinner was quite a different story, quiet with a limited menu. Food was below par. You'll find more and better options outside around Copacabana.

The place is very beautiful and the service is very good! There is a good bar for people to have a drink before eating at the restaurant. Also, we can eat with a scenic view of "calçadão de Copacabana".

Great assortment of fresh fruit; cold cuts; breads and cakes; and very well-made scrambled eggs. I only had the breakfast at this restaurant. It's right downstairs, to the right of the lobby as you walk into the hotel. Wonderful beach view. Love the windows on this hotel: you can look out, but no one can look in.

We ate here as stayed in the hotel Arena and we were tired and couldn't be bothered to go out for once so just went here as had good reviews. My partners meal was ok albeit a little expensive compared to other places in the vicinity but my meal was terrible. I took steak and it was one of the... More

We are staying at the hotel and decided on having dinner here, it was ok, mine was lovely but my husbands was ok, we have had better and there wasn't that much variety compared to other restaurants in the area.

We ordered filet mignon and grilled salmon. Big portion, good taste and reasonable priced. Service was slow though.

Caesar Salad is not a Caesar Salad. Filet Mignon is stir fried beef bits served with french fries... You get the drift.

We stayed at the Arena so this was really convenient for us. The food is average. Not bad, but I wouldn't go out of your way to visit.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
