I had friends from London who had never has Arabic food, so no other place crossed my mind than Stambul. Yes, service is a bit slow and they look unwilling to work, but the food compensates for everything, so rich and tasty it is! Portions are huge, two people can easily share the half portion and three will be pleased... More

We are here as we realised we had minimal money. Definitely can get enough food to share without spending too much but as with other places where you share dishes you can quite easily rack up a large bill. Nice atmosphere and enjoyable meal

The food at Stambul was really disappointing. IT is quite expensive and the food is not fresh at all. The Falafel my girlfriend ordered was not made by them but just fried out of the freezer. I live quite close and it looks nice from the outside and its a pretty place to sit because its a lively street at... More

We stopped in for a drink and stayed for lunch, it was lovely. Nice menu, some of it lost in translation, and really reasonable. We only had hummus, flatbread and kofta but it was really good. We would have returned for a 'proper' meal but were leaving the next day. Service was fine if a little slapdash.

I had gone many times and I always buy the esfihas or spinach pies, but the rice with onions is very good. The hummus was not so great, neither the babaganoush.

A great place and ambiance . Great meat and Arabic dishes . In rio the food can be a dilemma as a lot of tourist traps . Go to this place .

We visited this restaurant for dinner. The atmosphere is great, the decor is very appealing, though the service was not what I'd have expected. We ask for homus, stuffed leaves and tabuli for appetizer and lamb with lentil rice as main dish. I had ouzo for drink, the appetizer arrived, and as soon as we took a bite here was... More

trusty middle-eastern food; salads, lamb sausages; baba ghanouj and tabbouleh. The seating is elevated open-air and looks over a bustling corner in the Ipanema neighborhood.

Affordable, good quality, tasty, friendly, fast service. Just hits all the right buttons. You can still eat a great meal for less than R$30 in Copacabana. Very healthy, good quality of ingredients, fast service, take away if you need it. The Tabouli, kafta, fatayer,Sfiha also outstanding and great value. Have been 6-7 times, and consistently good, 30 years in operation,... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
