If you are really hungry this is the right restaurant! The dishes are huge and served with rice, mashed potatoes or french fries.

Fell as in your eating room. Waiters will bring you what you wish, the way you prefer. If your desire is to relax and enjoy, Lamas is the place.

I love coming back to this restaurant to get a feel of old Rio and its dishes. Service by the white coat and black bowtie waiters is always professisonal and a throwback to tradition. Once the food is brought to your table the server proceeds to transfer the food from the serving dish to the guest's plate individually with the... More

When you enter the restaurant, you may have to bow your head. Inside it has a good atmospere filled with history. The menu has a variety of food a lot inspired by portuguese cuisine. The waiters dressed in white give you good service.

I wanted a really good steak for my last meal in Rio. I got the garlic one and it was incredible. The baked it perfectly and the garlic on top was just perfection. It was a little bit expensive for the place, very simple and all, but the food was worth it. Very kind service too.

We had one of our better meals in Rio here recently. It's a very well established place with a nice, low key atmosphere. The steaks are probably the best choices here, although there are other good chicken and fish options available. Our steaks came exactly as ordered and were very good. The accompanying sides were very generous in size making... More

Cafe Lamas is a legend of Rio de Janeiro. It is a very simple restaurant (tables with paper towels) and informal service, but attentive. There is a wide variety of dishes on the menu, but I think the Filet Oswaldo Aranha, a carioca classic, is a must. The meat comes exactly at the desired doneness (medium rare), and very well... This is one of the most famous places in Rio. It is a very good restaurant with nice waiters. The best choices for me are the fried cod with potatoes and onions or the oswaldo aranha steak!

It's the most traditional restaurant in Rio. They offer a food typically Carioca. Simple, tasty and has varieties on menu. Filet Mignon Oswaldo Aranha is more ordered for dessert I recommend Banana Split (Picture).
