If you are in downtown São Paulo, this is certainly the place to have a nice lunch: the food is always good and not pricey!

The restaurant has a well known Brazilian chef in the command of the cuisine and his new restaurant brings a great combination of eating well while not taking long hours of your time. It's a great option whether you're in downtown Sao Paulo for business or visiting the historic center. The staff is friendly, the food is great and the... More

Amazing food, best option in Sao Paulo downtown area! Very friendly and helpful staff. A pleasant surprise in this neighborhood. We were very happy with the main course. Considering it is a restaurant downtown we were not expecting a chef who just came back from a 3 star Michelan restaurant in Alsace-Lorraine. If you're looking for a great lunch with... More

Great food. Best place to eat a great, low cost, chef food when visiting Sampa downtown. Close to Republica subway station.

Piazza 36 is an outstanding option in São Paulo center. The place offers good food for a fair price in a very pleasant environment. Menu and service in English is available.

Staying in Republica

Neighbourhood Profile
Part of the historical centre of São Paulo, República was once a fancy residential area. República Square holds a craft and food fair every weekend, right by the subway entrance. Nearby, one of the neighbourhood’s main attractions is the Italian Building, where you can see the city from the 42nd floor. The Copan Building also deserves a close look, with 1,160 apartments and a huge floor area that inspired filmmakers and other artists. To get the feeling of São Paulo in the beginning of the 1900s, visit the Municipal Theatre – you will be amazed by its architecture. The area also features several galleries. República is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.
