I was staying just one night in Birmingham, to visit my son, while traveling. Stayed at DoubleTree downtown. Sitar was across the street. My son had heard of it but hadn't tried it. So off we went. Really great food. Menu was quite extensive. The food was well prepared and flavorful. Servings were large but not wasteful. Prices were reasonable.... More

Amazing selection! Great staff and fabulous food, what more could you ask for? Don't let the location fool you, it's not in the fanciest building but it won't dissapoint!

This is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is freshly prepared, with care. The sauces add an interesting kick. The decor is appropriate for the type of restaurant. All I have to say is if you enjoy Indian food, I highly recommend this establishment!

Love this place. The food is great and the staff are friendly. I like Carrot Pudding and they will always bring me some even if it isn't on the menu.

Stayed at Doubletree across the street. Met my son for dinner. Unseasonably cold, so went to the close restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. Decor was average. They have lunch buffet, and at dinnertime they were scrubbing out the hot table, which detracted for "atmosphere". However the food was excellent. Soup, appetizers, bread and chutney and the mixed grill plates. Served with rice,... More

Wonderful place to meet with friends as the portion sizes are large and you can share different things at the table. We ordered strategically so we could have a sampling of different things. Nothing disappointed. Personally ordered the chicken masala and it was excellent. Also not very crowded for a Friday night. Take advantage of that in a town that... More
