My friends and I have dined all throughout Croatia for the last week and this meal was our most disappointing. Despite reading great reviews, our service was terrible. We ordered the lobster which ended up being $135. When the lobster came out it was missing an entire claw. We asked about the missing claw and the waiters response was "maybe... More

A very special dinning experience. My husband and I have both been in the food and wine industry and traveled often. This dinner was one of our best experiences ever. Impeccable service by Joseph, incredible food from the raw oysters to the lamb and grilled lobster. Even the local wine was absolutely divine. This place is a true gem.

Hard to find but worthwhile.....great food and service but a little overpriced by the standards of elsewhere. Delightful setting behind 15th century walls.....worth it for a special occasion.

Service here was 5 star and its a beautiful setting. Food was beautiful but we did feel it was a pricey visit. We had lovely meals elsewhere during our visit for a lot less.

Hvar is a beautiful island - we were only there one evening so decided to eat out away from our little boat. We turned up on the off chance and they had just 2 tables available, both out in the little street. The service was good, if a little 'pushy'. The food was excellent. I don't know exactly how much... We came to Giaxa with a big group a few days after our wedding further down the coast. The restaurant could not have been more thoughtful or hospitable - they put together a special menu for our table, and were at pains throughout the evening to ensure we had a wonderful time. We were really touched. The location is fantastic,... More

This restaurant is nice looking but food was very expensive for what it was and they charged my Visa card twice. Also, the exchange rate they used was very poor. Not worth the hassle!!

We were passing by at 3.30 when the lunch menu caught our eye. However when seated we were told it was too late for lunch and we had to order from the menu. I had the chicken with polenta and butternut squash sauce and my husband had the lamb stew. We noticed the cover price of 14 kuna each and... More

A great hidden restaurant. We went for our 43rd anniversary and sat in the 15 century courtyard. We started with proseco and had an appetizer of buckwheat, shrimp and truffles. Excellent but filling. The truffles added a nice earthy taste. Good thing we split it. Ann had beef tenderloin with truffle sauce and gnocchi. I had ox tail and stuffed... More

Headline: the food is good, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff is professional. HOWEVER: be very precise in what you order as otherwise you run the real risk of being gouged with expensive items you did not specifically order. A nice evening turned sour as we felt hugely taken advantage of and ripped off. Giaxa is on the 2nd... More
