Everything was perfect. The service, the owner makes you feel lie you are home. The desserts are perfect, you must try the "mousse de maracuya".

Ended up here by accident. only two other tables occupied, I had the coal cooked jumbo shrimp. Plaintains to start with pico de gallo, very tasty. For dessert I had some chocolate mousse thing that I didn't like. Since I didn't eat it, I think that they shouldn't have charged me for it, but they did. Service is very old... More

Our Spanish is minimal and the staff's English somewhat better, but we still were able to order our meals - Sea Bass in lemon sauce and the Avocado Crab salad. Both dishes were excellent, the wait staff friendly and accommodating, plus we were able to meet the owner who was a delightful woman who wanted to make certain we enjoyed... More

Our experience at Caracol was good but not incredible. The atmosphere was not great but the staff were all very professional and friendly. The entrees that we had tasted great (white wine chicken & Alfredo chicken pasta) but the fried crab legs were just okay. The owner came up to us and talked to us at the end of our... More

The atmosphere is a little staid and formal but the food is very good. We split the grilled octopus and both had one of the several sea bass dishes. Both nicely prepped, mine with lemon & butter, my wife's with Gorgonzola and hearts of palm. Good meal, would go again.

Great experience! The food was delicious and well prepared. We tried the shrimp ceviche, fried octopus and baked sea bass. I'd recommend this to anyone who isn't traveling on a budget, and is looking for a nice dinner with excellent service. The owner even came over to chat with us after the meal, just a wonderful establishment.

The food was OK, but nothing special and seemed overpriced to me. Like most restaurants in Guayaquil the wine menu is sparce and overpriced. The ceviche was tepid and the main course so forgetable that I can´t remember what I had. Only one other table was occupied, seemingly by friends or family of the owner, and the maitre d´ hovered... went for dinner. service sort of "slap happy" & definitely not smooth or professional. Out of swordfish, which is why I went. My sea bass was dried out. Ordered some fries-never arrived to eat with the fish! Very expensive & the slow (or non existent) service is painful. No A/C-a rolling cooler is either too hot or cold. Would never... More

Some fellow friends an co-workers of mine decided to have a celebratory last dinner together before leaving Guayaquil and going our separate ways. We chose Caracacol Azul or Blue Snail for those of you who are non-Spanish speakers. We all tried different dishes and shared tastes of them all. I started off with an appetizer of small shrimps with guacamole.... More
