We tried Patty’s secret garden situated on the roadside first and it was absolutely delicious! We ordered the burger and pad Thai, the burger was so delicious one of the best we have tried in Koh lanta! The staff were so welcoming, the lady who...gave us our order for takeaway even took the time to ask us how we were during this time (COVID) and informed us they would be re-opening sit down meals the following weekend if we would like to return. We left very happy with the service and food and planned to come back on the weekend.
We decided to try the Patty’s secret garden “By the sea” branch for the sit down meal return expecting and even better experience as we assumed this was the more popular restaurant.
However it wasn’t at all! We arrived to the restaurant and were expected to be greeted and have our temperature checked etc as standard procedure when entering a restaurant at this time , we approached the young lady sat on her iPad with the temperature gun to which she scanned us and then immediately after continued to look at her iPad and not say anything.
We were slightly confused as to whether we should just seat ourselves or wait to be seated as no one had said a word to us since we arrived so my partner then asked the English gentleman who had just walked into the kitchen if they were still open for sit down as there didn't appear to be any other customers seated from where we were stood.
We received and very abrupt sarcastic reply “my daughter has just seen you?” ...
We then asked politely if we should just seat ourselves instead as we were expecting the same service as the road side restaurant. They had greeted us and directed us to a table with menus in hand.
“Yes... like a normal restaurant...” was the sarcastic response 🤣 abit taken back by the rudeness we then decided to just leave and go somewhere else as clearly we were more of an inconvenience than customers. 🤭
Everyone has a bad day sometimes, Of course! but judging from some of the other reviews the rudeness from this gentleman is quite common at the beach restaurant.
Very disappointing as we were so happy with our first experience And was looking forward to return.More

I am of course sorry you feel it is necessary to write this and I do feel very upset by what you have written. I was not being sarcastic I just suggested you sat down - I was pretty annoyed with my daughter who was...More
Stopped by here the other night. Great food and ambience. Place is a lot bigger inside than it looks from the road. Needles to say the food was superb and keenly priced. Satay for sharing starter and a beef and chicken dish ( sorry cant...recall the names (laab)?? Great mealMore
We stumble on this place by accident as in the name it’s quite camouflaged by from the road by the plants and hedges Ellie was our waitress very attentive without being intrusive the food was fantastic so much so we revisited.
We sat near the...bar the other side of the restaurant caters fir families with a small children’s area.
Atom the owner couldn’t have been more hospitable we would definitely recommend it to anyoneMore
The staff is super friendly, very welcoming! The chef/owner is amazing too! The food is very nice, we tried the breakfast, western food and Thai food & everything was delish! We spend the day chilling in the bed (see pictures) in front of the sea...!
I would 100% recommendMore
We were working to a budget and found it best to save on accommodation away from breach front.....glad we did.
This is a great little secret tucked away, minutes walk from long beach....Why stay on a beach front places with inflated prices???
The staff are...great, friendly and accommodating.
The food is also very good, all options available, with a great kids menu which out daughter has enjoyed.More
