This is a large market in Sandakan town centre. Sells vegetables, fruit, meat, spices, herbs, fish, clothing etc. Food stalls upstairs. Good place to visit.

Our tour guide took us around here calling a supermarket, which in fact is a MARKET selling anything from fruit, veg, spices clothing and fish amongst other things. The fresh fish area is quite interesting, just wish I lived here solely for the fact that prawns are SOOOOO cheap to buy here, I could live on these. There are so... More

Every Central Market is always a fun place to visit and taste the local scene of people and their food selection, fresh and readily available. Apart from coming to do your daily marketing for farm fresh vegetables, fruits and local produce, there's always the sea food product either fresh from the sea or already nicely packed for keeping. I always... More

The market is well worth visiting, as a foreigner you may observe local people's life and plenty of fruit, vegetables and food items you might have never seen before. The back part belongs to a fish market, which is also very interesting. People are friendly, not intrusive at all, even if you don't want to buy anything. Better to visit in... More

I came here to get some fresh fruit, 2 apples and 3 oranges for 3MYR which wasn't bad! I had a look around the place too, they have alot of dried fish, seeds & spices, fresh meats and also veggies. Not much else to see other than that, but worth a look to get a sense of the place, or... More

Get down here about 0530 and watch the mayhem that is the fish market. Great to see the trawlers offloading their catch of fresh fish, prawns, etc. Then head up to the second floor and have a great cheap breakfast of kway teow.

Located at the 2nd floor of this market, there's is one stall selling homemade Kueh Teow with deep fried pork. The texture of the kueh teow is so smooth and fine, deep fried pork is very tasty, and the miso soup like soup base is incredible! When we asked for the bill, the price even shocked us, average RM4.30 per... More

Wide range of food available. Go to the first floor for halal food which has a good range of Malay food. The second floor has many stalls selling Chinese food. Head for the stall with a sign '1940 original homemade kueh teow with deep fried pork'. This is the second generation operator and the recipe has been unchanged since it... More
