Great hospitality! excellent mouth watering food made with extra care.. Home made spices were used in all meals, where wecan feel a significant difference from other meals made out of factory processed spices.

This was a very unique experience I had. I loved the hospitality. The food was amazing and I loved the people. There were very kind and humble and tight us how to cook while cooking us a splendid mouth watering authentic Sri Lankan mean full...of love and flavour. It was very engaging and exciting unlike the usual sit and dine in experience you would get in a normal restaurant. I also learned to cook these dishes for the future. IF anyone visits Kandy this should be in there bucket list. Don.More

This cooking class is so good, because it is just you and the family in their house. We chopped the veggies, mixed the spices and cooked over the wood burning stove. Incredible, we were shown and did all the prep and then were able to...eat our efforts for lunch. Very helpful, friendly fun experience, on a one to one basis. Loved it, thank you very much.More

Our dinner at Kandyan Rice and Curry was without doubt one of the highlights of our two weeks holiday in Sri Lanka in January 2020. We only had two nights in Kandy and it was my turn to select a restaurant. I found Kandyan Rice...and Curry on Trip Advisor and thought 'let's give this a try'. I'm so please we did. Two couples (from Norway and Australia) left out hotel by Tuk Tuk and off we were into a residential area of Kandy. We were greeted by the most wonderful family including Kumari (mother and cook), father Sarath Chandra and son Kasan (the main host), his wife Nimali and the cutest baby Harindu. After a most inviting welcome we were seated on their front terrace. Kasan answered any questions we had and before long we were eating the most delicious and flavoursome Sri Lankan curries (when I called to make the booking I was asked questions about what we liked and how hot we liked it!). The food was yummy. When we finished our meal we were given a delightful tour of their kitchen which I found fascinating especially the traditional wood fired oven and other traditional cooking implements. You can also learn to cook the dishes you eat but unfortunately we did not have time to do this. Rather there was only time to enjoy the meat and vegetable curries. If you want alcohol you will have to bring it with you. A fabulous evening. Since returning home this is definitely is one of the highlights of our journey. The family are kind and welcoming people. Great experience.More

The cookery class with your wonderful family was one of the highlights of my holiday in Sri Lanka. We loved the wood burning stove, the rolling stone for grinding, the utensils made from coconut shells and the clay pots. The food was simple and delicious,...made with love. The family were such a joy and so happy to show us their cuisine. Thank you for such an authentic experience. Padmini Brookman, United KingdomMore

We had a great time learning to prepare and cook 7 delicious curries in a local home. using a wood burning cooktop and local pots and utensils. These were the best curries we tasted in Sri lanka, and the whole experience was amazing. This is...well worth trying, for something totally different and you get to meet a lovely local family.More

Loved the whole concept, what a brilliant idea. Firstly the family that runs this makes you feel so welcome and at home. We were then given so much food and of a very high standard. Of the restaurants and meals we ate in Sri Lanka...this was our favorite, a real taste of what home cooking is like in this wonderful country. Can’t recommend this place more you have to try it.More
