I wonder how peopke find this place cos there are no visible signboards to the tiny passage leading to Karims. It is bustling on a weekday at lunch time. We ordered popular items- mutton seekh, chicken jehangiri, brain curry, burrah mutton, shahi paneer with the beautiful hot tandoori rotis. All dishes had excellent unique flavour and were non spicy. Burrah mutton sauce was buttery & delicious but my piece of mutton was tough and inedible. There was a fatty feel which stayed on the fingers even after washing. Mutton biryani is not the best choice. Superb service and good experience to visit old delhi.

In delhi so wanted to try Karim's. It was epicura food court at Nehru place metro station named Karim's delhi 6. It is a self service restaurant. 90% dishes are non vegeterian so had little to choose. Ordered dal makhani, paneer kadhai and rumali roti served with onion and green chutney. Paneer was best lot spicy with khada masala. Dal is good and mild. Roomal roti much thinner than usual rumali. Good thing is you can order half portion that is priced about 65% of full portion. Just slightly more then average experience.

So overrated...Even the kebabs couldn't be eaten. The rumali rotis were like chewing gum. The only saving grace was the mutton nihari that we ordered. Karim's has many of its hotels located near each other so it has abundant seating space but the service was too slow. In fact, you would be much better off trying the other restaurants in its vicinity. We went to Karim's for its heritage, and returned back disappointed. And, gosh, the price!! Complete waste of money for us.

I don’t know whether we ordered badly but we had three dishes that were all incredibly bland. The ‘spicy sauce’ was also very bland and mild. I think they may have been overly concerned as European tourists we wouldn’t want spice but what we ended up getting was the kind of food I’d expect in a bad curry house in the UK. Just didn’t get this place. Food in the surrounding area of old Delhi was otherwise incredible

Was recommended highly to try this iconic restaurant . Took the subway and got off close to red Fort and walked . Walked through markets and a Sikh temple and got closer to the red Fort . And after inquiring where Karins was I finally found the place . It was 11 am in the morning could see people making naans and then there was a eatery close by . Sat down , there were a couple of people eating . Ordered tea was told they didn’t have any except Payal and naan . The payal arrived and it was nothing but a watery soup with bones not even a molecule of meat or anything . The naan bread was warm and soft . Dipped my bread and had it . Nothing special about the food . Nothing inspiring , didn’t think it was worth taking the trouble to come for this . There were some signs showing when this restaurant started . I left took some pics and made my way back . Unfortunately within 45 minutes I realized my stomach giving way and had to find the nearest washroom to relieve myself . I walked in desperation , minutes felt like hours and finally found the restaurant , went to the washroom to find I had Diahrea . All from eating that Payal and naan bread . Never again . Karims you will never make me forget . Most probably cooked in unsanitary conditions for to get an upset stomach

This old  restaurant ( Estd. 1913) near Jama Masjid has gained legendary status for its traditional Delhi Mughlai cuisine. The following is my  experience at the restaurant ( Rating in a Scale of 5, 5 being highest):- A. Location : At 16 Gali Kababian, Jama Masjid, Old Delhi Opening Hours is 9 am till 1 am. The area is very congested and traffic is heavy. You have to park your vehicle at Brijmohan Chawk and walk about 10 minutes or hire a electric rickshaw at Rs. 50. (Rating 3.5) B. Cuisine :  Serves  limited Mughlai cuisine (Rating 4) C. Ambience: The decor of the restaurant is just basic and no frill, though AC is installedp.(Rate 3.75). D. Food tried : We had our lunch at the place. We ordered mutton bara kabab  (Rs 460 for 4 pieces ), Butter chicken half Plate( Rs. 545), tandoori roti ( Rs.115 ) and Tandoori Roti (Rs. 15). We had Kheer (Rs. 50) as dessert. (Rating 4.5) E. Food taste: All the items we tried were well prepared and taste heavenly. Mutton was soft, succulent, well cooked, great in taste, perfectly spiced and cooked. Chicken was also very tasty and the gravy. The roti and nun was just extra ordinary. ( Rating 4.5) F. Food presentstion : Food presentation was nothing special, as expected in the class it belongs. (Rating 4). G. Service: The  service of the restaurant is excellent. The staff was very courteous.(Rating 4.5). H. Value for money: At Rs. 1864  for the wholesome lunch for three, is quiet reasonable.  .(Rating 4) I. Overall experience : Very  Good. A must try if you are a connoisseur of Mughlai cuisine and ready to beat the traffic in the narrow lane and pandemonium that you might have to encounter. (Rating 4.5)

Karim’s The word is Enough to say ..!!! They have the best Non veg food near Jama Masjid 🕌, Old Delhi … Visited here for the first time bcoz of their great history and pretty famous food Time magazine has ranked KARIM’S in the top restaurants of Asia 🎉🎉 Their forefathers were the royal chef in the royal kitchen of the Mughal Dynasty and one of their great grandfather introduced this foods to the common man and since then they are serving this mouth watering succulent non vegetarian dishes in old delhi since 1918.. Currently today the fourth generation of Royal Chef brings this choicest Mughlai Delicacies to everyone…. Highly recommended this place if you are visiting Jama Masjid 🕌

Every time I visit Delhi I visit two restaurants a number of times. My favourite is Karim's near the Jama Masjid in Old Delhi. All the food here is wonderful but I enjoy most of all the Raan, (spiced leg of Mutton). It has to be ordered 24 hours in advance. The food is spicy but as a foreigner I always order plenty of curd, (yoghurt), to accompany it. The atmosphere is of another generation and invites you to stroll after eating, to work off the evening's food. Try some paan from the sellers nearby. Two things to remember; it's a Muslim area so don't take alcohol. (You can always have a glass or 2 of wine before you go.) Secondly this is an old fashioned place and even though they have a 5% service charge, please remember to tip all the workers right down to the young kids who clear and wash the dishes. They don't expect foreigners to know the customs, but are very pleased when it happens.

The food which is served famous across India. It is definitely good for those who enjoy very oily and Spicy Food. Since I am health conscious this food was not for me. I tried chicken curry with Tandoori Roti. But if you are health conscious this place may not be for you. But one can try once in life time.

I first visited Karim's at Jama Masjid and then the one at Noida sector 18. I was utterly disappointed by these 2 and in the hope that they might have improved visited the last one at Pacific mall kaushambi Ghaziabad. The food quality has degraded even more and we were served stale rumali rotis. Moreover the price they charge for such poor quality and quantity is hard to believe. Karim's, if u r reading please buckle up and improve your food quality and potion as u r renowned all around and food lovers shouldn't feel cheated.

Food was ok, not worth the hype. Service was a little all over, they forget two of our dishes and brought it over only when we asked. Tried to pass it off as if it was still being cooked. You might struggle to find, just follow the signs from main road. Just to note all dishes are cooked on the bone for chicken.

Me and my friend went their restaurant which is at near by Jama Masjid and after waiting in the queue their staff member offered the table to share with other people and when we asked separated table to the shop owner he was yelling on us and asked to go away from their!! I don’t how they can behave like this when someone is coming at their restaurant with lots of interest . They have enough space but they don’t know moral principals of to treat their customers!! I will never recommend to anyone to go their.

Right across Jama Masjid, savoring the tandoori food is phenomenal. Afghani Chicken, Mutton Seek Kebab, Nihari, Tandoori Roti and THE CHICKEN BURRAH! All are a must. Chicken Burrah is the best smoked chicken I've had till now. Meat lovers - especially mutton and beef dishes are just for you! Do not forget eating here at least once before leave for your hometown :)

Ordered Jhangiri and Mutton Korma with Biryani, It was disappointing beyond words. Took a colleague from Hyderbad with such high hopes about old Delhi Mughlai food and from the place of its origin. Utter Rubbish, sweet and sour Korma and biryani full of Haldi. Is this what you define as old delhi mughlai food ??? Over expansion and continuous over hyped, you are taking your customers for granted now. I ve been to Karim's at the India Islamic Center and on the MG road in Delhi, they are far superior and serve so much better food than these two over rated and hyped places, utter waste of time , effort and appetite.
