Located in the Tower Wing, this restaurant is a no fuss modern continental style restaurant serving excellent food at very reasonable prices, just the thing for a quick meal after a tiring day!

The Shamiana restaurant used to be nice and characterful. Now unfortunately it's just like any other restaurant in any other hotel, they've shut the old place and bunged the name on a new and characterless part of the hotel to the right as you go in. The menu is a weird and eclectic mix of stuff - decent food no... More

I am a huge fan of this Taj and have frequented for many years. The old Shamiana had an excellent staff--incumbent waiters who had been retained for years--they were genteel and well knowledgeable how everything worked. Since they moved to another part of the hotel, that staff no longer exists, but a crew of people (all men) who have no... More

Shamiana restaurant located on the GF of the hotel is a contemporary restaurant. Serve a range of food - Indian, Italian, etc. Nicely presented and smartly served. Restaurant itself has a roof made of canvas sheets to give the Shamiana look.

This is a beautiful part of the Taj Mahal Palace hotel. We had coffee and pancakes here. The coffee was nice and the pancakes were delicious. If in Mumbai, this is a must visit place!

Notwithstanding its location within the Taj Mahal Palace, Shamiana isn't at all overpriced, by comparison with lower quality hotels in India. The service and food are excellent too.

Thank Jeremy S
