Great way to relax and view the real Kolkata is visiting a local haunt. A good place to try is the famous coffee house 'The Indian Coffee Workers Co". Like any old intellectual district around the world there is always a place to gather for men to talk about politics, life and general business - this is it in Kolkata.... More

We were a group of friends who visited this place during evening for some snacks and tea. The place has a old Kolkata charm but that's it, the food - both veg and non-veg are not up to the mark. The place is generally filled with smokers (as tea and smoke is a favorite pass time of majority of local... More

Overpriced food, bland cooking, competitive market demand makes it not ideal place for friendly chat for long time, which used to be.

If u are a বাঙালি, u must have to visit this place. Pros: Nostalgic place, Ice coffee really good, chicken and mutton cutlet are avg quality. Cons: U will not get all items from menu, what ever is ready at that time they will serve those only. Cigarette smoking allowed in table.

This place was incredible! I would never have found it or gone there unless taken by my lovely guide. It's huge and so unusual. The waiters wear incredibly smart uniforms and take your order and the coffee was delicious. I would have like a sweet cake but there were none. I couldn't stop people watching it was so interesting. I... More

This is a great place for eating with family and friends. Food items are pocket friendly. Though they do not have lots of items on their menu card, all the items taste great. I think they are more worthy to mention than what one pays. It is famous for the meeting place of the famous writers. Students also like this... More
