This is close to 200 years old. It's witnessed generations of class in Kolkata. It's amazing how over time, they have managed to reinvent themselves, everytime.

In the winter-spring season, this is the speciality every Bengali craves for. Made of jaggery and usual ingredients of sandesh, this is a delicacy.

Excellent value for money as its a traditional Bengali sweet shop...very reknownded for over 100 years maybe.Maybe difficult to access as they are in a distant location from the centre and have no branches.

This shop has an heritage label for their sweets. They are best in West Bengal in terms of "Sandesh". If you taste their sweets you can understand the taste of Bengali Jamindar and Khandani Gharana of sweets. If you are in kolkata you must taste the sweets of their shop.

"The green-grilled mishti shop at 56 Ramdulal Street is simply called Nakur, short and (very) sweet. Peering through the iron, glasses perched on his nose, Victor picks up one of their best-selling items, Jol Bhora Norom Pak, gives them a thumbs up, and gulps down the sandesh. From a two-item menu consisting of Kada Pak and Monda back in 1844, to 2010 where Chocolate Sandesh can compete for the number one spot, Nakur has come a long way." -- The Telegraph.
