Linda and Jessie are the owners and I must say they have their hands on quite a wonderful little business. It's not much to look at but don't let that deter you. The BBQ is absolutely some of the best I have ever had. The price to food ratio is perfect. Pair that along with how friendly these wonderful people... More

We try to avoid your typical "chain food" restaurants, so while traveling to Southern Alabama we were looking for somewhere to give us good food with Southern charm. We found it at the Real Pit Bar-B-Que. we had read the reviews, but we're skeptical. I'm glad to say this place did not disappoint. We placed our order with a very... More

Outdoor only so nowhere to sit in cold weather except picnic tables. Very friendly and accommodating. Ate at 3:00 and they were out of salad. Had pork plate which was average. Sauce just average and maybe the pork would be better without it. Sides of potato salad and slaw. They were average. Also had stew which was good but maybe... More

You might miss this place, out in the parking lot of the Shell station, but that would be your mistake! I had the pork ribs plate, and the ribs were very very good, smoky, tender, falling off the bone. That they were served with a plastic fork tells you how tender they were because you could tear them apart without... More

Great authentic southern barbecue! Don't let the look of the place keep you from stopping. So glad we did. Lots of people were there so we knew it had to be good. We had the large chopped pork sandwiches and they were huge! Great tasting, perfectly cooked pork! Skip the fast food joints and give this place a try.

Jessie's place may be tiny, but his wood-smoked BBQ is the best. Freshly cooked, not over-cooked. We get BBQ pork, coleslaw, and beans to take home (Greenville) or to the beach . The family loves it. And the lemonade! The cats lurking around the smoke house are an additional treat.

I haven't had too many things off of their menu, but the it is impressive - lots of things to choose from. We've had their smoked chopped pork as a take out and it was out of this world! Very tender, very juicy - absolutely delicious! I originally wanted to buy their smoked turkey, but the lady there told us... More

We eat here often and also purchase large quantities of their meat and sides for family functions, parties, etc. Have always been pleased with the food from Real Pit- you can count on it being delicious! Don't pass up one of their brownies, while you are there!

My wife wanted BBQ on the way back home from the beach and this was the closest. It's real small only some picnic tables outside. Had BBQ sandwiches and ribs and stew and beans all of which were worth th stop. I would definitely recommend stopping in for some good bbq
