Great neighborhood place to meet friends for dinner! Excellent Mexican food, fresh and delicious! Great for friends, dates or families. You can eat outdoors on the patio or indoors. Highly recommend the roasted corn and the fried chicken! Fun place, delicious food!

We loved the fried chicken. It was juicy and delicious! The street style corn was tasty as well - we'd go back for both! The margaritas were fabulous, as was the homemade limeade that my daughter had. Good service - we loved it!

Ate here with friends on a mountain bike trip to Birmingham. Loved the brisket tacos and corn! Everything priced very reasonably.

Have to agree with other reviews stating the Donkey is on the decline. Everything is ala carte - which it didn't use to be. In short, Less is more [less food more money]. Waiters struggle with draft beer offerings - charging for chips/salsa. This used to be our go to place when family visited. Sorry there are too many other... More

Had lunch at Little Donkey, pretty good food. Had fried chicken, street corn and chipotle slaw. Ordered chips and salsa first of which they charge $2.75, Rojo sauce was ok not great but chips seemed almost a little stale and were served cold, not too impressed. Fried chicken was good as was chipotle slaw, the street corn was good. Service... More

The restaurant still offers many of the same foods, which are good, but they have incrementally declined in that customers are now paying more for less food. They are nickel and diming customers over every little thing. They make you pay for chips and salsa. If you order queso or guacamole, they still make you pay for salsa. Sides no... More

Had the fried chicken which was delicious. Carrot salad and chipotle slaw were just too hot and I like spicy food, so disappointed with the sides which no one at our table ate.

From the moment we walked in the door until we left, we experienced the most amazing service. The way the entire staff seems to work together as a team to provide excellent service is so refreshing to see! It was an extremely busy evening because of Christmas and the restaurant was packed but we were greeted with smiles and kind... More
